  1. The more talk the better mate! And pics! I’ll have a look at both Mick, I can see pros and cons for each. I doubt I’ll ever want to run a flail from such a small machine, and we’re covered on the grinder front with Vons Predator.
  2. Cheers Dave. I’m leaning towards the WQ rather than the Microbull because I’d prefer wheels over tracks and there is a dealer 7 miles away. The MB attachments look great, and are certainly keenly priced. I suppose it’s too much to ask for them to be compatible? More vids would be great.
  3. Cheers Will. Whilst the idea of sitting on my arse all day holds a LOT of appeal, I was looking to go narrower than that.
  4. I’m crunching some numbers to finally finance a mini loader, Worky Quad or similar. Obviously there are a staggering array of attachments. I’ll probably just start off with a couple, and am after advice on what would be the best choice initially. I’ve pretty much narrowed it down to a Klou log grab (free rotation), a grapple bucket, and pallet forks. Pretty much 100% arb work, mainly domestic, but certainly interested in subbing to landscapers/fencers/builders in the future. Any input appreciated.
  5. Helmet stickers are great. I’m shortly bringing one to the market that says ‘MUMMY AND DADDY PAID FOR MY CHIPPER’.
  6. Slight derail Ben but did those trackside connies ever get done?
  7. If you’re still stuck mate drop me a PM. I’m still out of action after the hernia op, so could package and post mine up to you for a week or two if you need it. Which bar did it come with? The Techlite ones are utter shite and best in the bin anyway. The X-Force that Skyland supplied mine with has been brilliant.
  8. Wise words. You’ll only do it once though…. I would pay good money to see a vid of Joe’s catch.
  9. Can you try a different bar on it Gimlet?
  10. Don’t rely on any container. You need layers, then more layers. Then probably more. Sadly, I totally disagree with Vedhogger about insurance. That’s your only bulletproof layer (read the small print).
  11. You’ll have to explain that one to me Tommy!
  12. You’re getting a right kicking here Gimlet! Did you turn the saw off before removing the cover?
  13. Of course Khriss. It’s important to be historically accurate in these matters.
  14. Much further afield. Mel Gibson is from Australia.
  15. All good advice so far. All I can offer is don’t do what I used to and try and take big steps to ascend. It sounds counterintuitive but taking little steps will get you up the tree quicker.
  16. We should stop buying their shit if we can possibly help it. I haven’t forgiven them for Covid just yet.
  17. Don’t forget ‘Any quote beaten, special rates for OAP’s, ask driver for details’.
  18. Els reckons they are really comfy, and they do look nice and light for climbing. Probably just a knack to master putting them on as Treevolution says, they’ve got some kind of ‘sock’ thing to keep sawdust out of your boots.
  19. Even if it’s an ag spec machine I’m pretty sure you’d be on dodgy ground unless you are doing pure forestry or agri work. Someone like @Justme might come up with a more conclusive answer.
  20. Our lass has got them. They are really hard to pull on, she snapped the tab within a week and Arbortec reckoned she’d abused them. Seeing as you can break a ball bearing I’d give them a swerve.
  21. It’s a tough one for sure Alec. As you seem to be one of the most intelligent, reasonable and level-headed people on here I’m not sure I can help much! Mike’s idea of a registered letter is pretty sound, although ‘received’ and ‘opened and read’ can be different things. Maybe try calling from a different number? Yours may have been put on the ‘hassle I can’t deal with filter’. If you can get the opportunity to explain the situation I’m sure you can do it with diplomacy and tact, given the circumstances. Like Alex, I’d avoid solicitors if at all possible. Last resort territory for me. Good luck with it mate.
  22. Bore vertically down the centre of the ring with a saw at least halfway. Drop a wedge into the bore cut and smack the wedge in with a sledge or back of maul. This should halve the ring. Repeat on the halves if necessary. Things should get easier after that, especially if you knock logs of the edges rather than trying to halve the whole piece every time.
  23. I’m pretty sure he’s added blue, at least.
