  5. Ok, I have decided to look at trading in the iveco 7.5t and the canter 3.5t, and have been offered a nearly new renault master double cab, has anyone used one of these trucks for tree work, and how do they perform on a daily basis? Had a look around it and a quick drive and it seems ok.
  6. Just some randoms I foundin my archive.
  7. I quite like the smell to be honest!!
  8. How close? may be affecting the run-off, and may be starving the trees of water
  9. The Sudden Oak Death pathogen P. ramorum and the new species to be named P. ‘kernovii’ both cause bleeding canker, particularly in beech, red oaks, Turkey oak and tulip tree. P. ‘kernovii’ has very recently been recorded causing bleeding canker on English oak. These two organisms are notifiable and the Forestry Commission should be informed if symptoms are detected on these hosts.
  10. Were the water pipes put in up-hill from the trees???
  11. sit and pick them off one by one! Dead man's shoes stylee!!!!
  12. is it an eddie stobart lorry?
  13. cheers matt, you busy?
  14. Im not a licensed consaultant, its just a risk ass for all the trees overhanging the boundary in a woodland. I just find it easier and clearer to put it into a survey format.
  15. Help, does anyone have a blank copy of a survey form I could steal? Ive accidently deleted the one from the computer
  16. 20kg bag, £8 or 2 for £15 Nissan D21 (single cab) pick up full £60
  17. Why not, did you go for the tipper body?
  18. here he is!!!
  19. could of done with that sawmill the other week, had a 15ft straight stem of beech about 3.5-4ft dia all the way up, none of the local sawmills wanted it. As it was behind a wall it had to be chogged down in small bits, wish I had a crane!! What would something like that be worth, its got/had some awsome markings on it.
  20. will take some when it gets back, the guys are out with it with the tracked chipper, on highway duties!!! Its even got power sockets and a sink in the back...... so if the kettle dissapers from the office I know where to look!!!
  21. Yey, just brought a nice 130 td5 ex-enviro agency, decent winch, awsome bit of kit for those roadside windblowns!! Roll on the devon winter, hope it is like last years!!!
  22. These are older guys who will just be running around chipping things mainly for highways and la, When I get the fulltime climbers and traniees/groundies in I will put them through the nptc one as I think it will hold more value with the arb assessment.
  23. Im using nptc for everything else, just trying to put so many guys through at once seems a lot easier with lantra, we have a gang of 7 going and its done in a day, where as if I went with nptc our local college (85miles away) runs it over 2 days, and a lot more expensive, added to that the extra days down-time for the guys it suddnley becomes VERY expensive
  24. Thanks, think I will stick with the lantra course.
  25. Indeed, and ive got 6-7 guys going on it! so the lantra one is looking more promising £££££
