  1. Love the stuff, though maybe a bit too sweet for some.
  2. My point exactly as to why I use both ends to reach the top anchor, longer lanyards may be a solution but then you're stuck with a lot of excess at the end of the lanyard when it comes to working.
  3. I think a slight re-wording to: do you ALWAYS turn down a felling job due to morals? I assume most will have turned down the odd one or two but who is truly without sin?
  4. A bit of a random question, but was there anywhere you could have a go at axe throwing? I've been told that there was in the past and was really looking forward to it lol.
  5. Well if you're 100% confident you're fine. It's just some people may consider it to be safer because it would seem you have two anchor points, it's neither nor in reality. If your only anchor goes normally you're gonna fall and if one anchor in the v-rig fails your gonna fall (granted MAYBE not to the deck depending on the distance to anchors etc.). Dunno why I'm bothered though cause I use both ends , oh primitive me.
  6. Thanks for the photos, always love seeing different set-ups. May try that friction hitch sometime, I gotta get out the habit of using the same on for everything.
  7. For me, I'd only use the V-rig on two definitely good anchors. Really not worth the risk if one fails. I think it's best to see it as a more supportive way in terms of positioning than a safer way.
  8. Any idea on the weather for tomorrow? Gonna make the journey so don't wanna turn up to an empty soggy field cause everyones had enough and packed up lol.

  10. I use both ends to reach my anchor point as I feel it's much quicker and often easier for me, then revert back to single line and work positioning strop for all work operations. There's just something unnatural to me about using the strop to climb, at the moment I still prefer the security of a lengthy bit of rope keepin me up rather than a short bit tied to my side. All that said I did learn with a lanyard and passed my CS38 that way.

  16. Never had a problem with Ford Fiesta. Had an old G reg and M reg and both ran perfectly for years, sold em on to a stock car racer and I bet their still going now.

  21. I was mostly shocked because the example shown was the number I'd picked ... thought that was the trick lol.
  22. Would that involve simply placing the pulley where the hitch climber is and everything is clipped into that one krab? Maybe adding a separate pulley on a small krab to help tend line into the hitch too? One more general question whilst I'm posting, is it possible to use the hitchclimber with a bowline on the main line and dbl fishermans on the firction cord instead of spliced eyes? Seems to me like it would be too much going on that could interfere with the hitch.
  23. Nothing too bad, just banned off a golf course for going round too slow (at least my friend was). Bit harsh I thought but then that's golf for ya.
  24. Thanks a bunch Drew, exactly what I was looking for. See what you mean about the big fall though, definitely something to keep in mind. Still in two minds about the hitchclimber, still seems a bit of a beefed up pulley really but with more fuss if you don't use spliced eyes.
