  1. Steve, still no contact from the guy with the wooden business cards!

  3. Is that ok for plant engines, made vans and old tractors?

I ran a relay tipper fir nearly 5 yrs, was v good to be fair, had the odd problem here and there but on the whole was a good truck, sold it and got a Renault master tipper, are they the best? Probably not but there not as bad as people make out.
  5. I has a 220 a few years ago that did exactly the same, the rollers are sacraficial parts rater than bugger the motor, not sure why you having trouble getting it out though, mine was a doddle and yes I just put a new roller in complete, best ask PeteB.
  6. Am glad your still doing ok, yeah I get that a fair bit, I quote say 400 quid the customer accepts then some spanner comes along and days 200! There are loads working for crumbs.
  7. That must be really hard when you have built up a good business have done nothing wrong then times get tough, it's tough here, like you say the amount of tranny vans and small chippers around and 2 men working for peanuts is sole destroying. I get under cut a lot and I'm amazed at what some people will work for!
  8. Pete don't backtrack now, was it you mullering that poor Birch?
  9. Thank you, and yes I totally agree with you, this industry does seem to have more cowboys than many others but it won't change until people like the councils change the way they operate as even some of there work is crap. Good standards always stand out so just do the v best you can.
  10. No body said it was acceptable, we're just not ranting on about it like it's the worst think ever to happen! It's poor work end of, neither me or my 2 guys will work like that but it happens and getting wound up about it won't do any good.
  11. "Should" is totally different to "must"! It's only recommendation not law and ftr I'm with you on the poor quality work .
  12. Not all trees in a conservation area are worth keeping! If the TO thought it was anything of significance he would of TPO it. Crap work happened in every industry, that's life I'm afraid.
  13. A TO has no authority on how the work is done in a CA he either serves a TPO or shuts up, the council can only recommend quality work. I agree with the others, I concentrate on my life and work not others.
  14. And that makes it right? It's crap work with out a doubt and nothing I would like to put my name to but the TO has no power to do anything unless they didn't serve notice to the council first, if they did then the TO has no authority on what happens all he can do is serve a TPO or agree to the work.

Really? The last time I looked an 8" jensen was about 21k.
  16. That's handy, so you could pull a 1250k chipper and be legal here with the 8250kg train weight.
  17. That's not a big engine for a 7.5t truck is it? My 3.5 is 3lt .
