  1. I am just editing another crash and bash felling, (with music) to add to the mayhem side of things, I have a bit of rigging footage I can edit but for the time being my head is cabbaged.
  2. Must be the ruff ass treework tag doing the job:laugh1:
  3. I wouldn't bother with the wifi remote. If you have a smart phone you can sync it to that and see what the camera sees. For start stop just reach up and press the button
  4. Its a Hero3 white
  5. I used the Gopro freebie, once I got it to stop crashing I just chucked a couple together quick I can go over the footage again and polish the turd a little:laugh1:
  6. You bought something, you looked around the store, virtual or not. Did you tick the "no thanks" box? You are a customer now and that matters
  7. So I finally managed to get a gopro and, well that video work is harder than you think, there are some vids on the net where nearly as much work has gone into the vid as did the cutting So here is my effort, warts and all. No music, I haven't figured that out yet but I am working on it
  8. Its called a loss leader They nail the manufacturer down on price with veiled threats about his stuff going in bad spots in the store and suchlike, then they knock em out at cost. Gets people talking, foot fall through the door, membership renewals, and you invariably buy more than the loss item Only person that suffers is the manufacturer:thumbdown:
  9. Call that cack? You don't know the meaning of the word. I had to dump the entire footage of a great fell because I didn't have the camera pointing at the action. That's proper cack. Wait till I get my cack uploaded, Ill show you what cack looks like, and I have bad habits and quite possibly swear words in mine:laugh1::laugh1:
  10. Price wise for the pump, get the motor data and ask white house or flowfit (other suppliers are available) to quote for a suitable pump, it will be in hundreds rather than thousands
  11. You are going to have to find a supply to the pump, it may take some imagination. It needs to be as big as possible, if its too small the pump will cavitate, feeding or returning it through a spool will probably cause problems.
  12. I wouldn't be that concerned about the heating, the tractor will have an oil cooler and when its not grafting and open centre valve isn't exactly generating volcano temperatures and not even anything like even under load.
  13. Love my jet boil in the cold
  14. Quite right, and stop whining about VOSA, they are there to keep a lid on the cowboys who would otherwise have all sorts of shonky vehicles using the roads.
  15. As others have said, no one is going to entertain you without pins and without the ability to self load and tip, you are on a hiding to nothing. A lot timber comes from roadside and the truck loads itself and tips itself at the delivery point. Yard to yard with loading facilities for a flat is scarce work.
  16. A mate recovered 2 people carriers involved in the same RTA, the assessor team (four of them) were all over them both cars for several hours. Full on diagnostics and a CSI style examination but then with ten or more claims ranging from a couple of grand to life changing injuries who can blame them. A fender bender might not attract the same interest.
  17. For that kind of money jut put a pump on the PTO and plumb it into the tractors reservoir. Much simpler quicker and cheaper
  18. You weren't sure what works would be allowed to a dead tree?????? Hmmmm So as before go with whoever you want Otherwise DNFTT
  19. Well the answer is, you don't have to use the applicant to do the work Goodnight
  20. Small trees, don't reduce small trees unless you want micro trees All others can be reduced, some tolerate it better than others
  21. To fill that paperwork in he must have looked at the tree, to you its a pile of wood and some leaves, clearly this person could see more than that and found justification for the fell. That takes knowledge and experience, bit more than 5 minutes there.
  22. Another element that might affect the price is that the competitor has clearly got your information from the TPO online notification and they know who the other contractor is. It is entirely possible that they have sharpened their bid to be ultra competitive in order to deny a competitor work. If that is the case you have to wonder where they are going to shave the work to keep it in profit?
  23. You're quite right to get more than 1 quote but you have had a "freebie" of the people that got the consent for you, the average charge for the paperwork seems to run between 60 and 100 pounds, if you use the other outfit, at least offer to cover the expenses of getting you the consent.
  24. Well lets see, you have had the benefit of their professional advice and they have assessed the tree and made a successful application that may well have been beyond your ability. You owe them morally if nothing else. There is nothing stronger than your conscience preventing you from using another contractor and there is nothing stopping the original applicant from using a civil action to recover costs if they so choose, that could become a coin toss in the hands of the county court.
  25. Hmmmm, so the pilot control signals the pump by either pressure or pressure relief. I am afraid I don't know enough about that system to say one way or the other.
