  1. You have a PM
  2. Hi, Thanks for the offer. I already have a PTO log saw & hydraulic splitter set up. I just want to up grade, speed up, drop to one man & generally have to handle each bit less.
  3. Still open to offers / suggestions.
  4. Even with the braked one you might not need a trailer E licence, it will depend on the vehicle you are using to tow it. If the Vehicle & trailers plated MAM totals less than 3500kg your ok to tow it with a B car type licence.
  5. I would disagree. All the info re petrol going "off" is due to what is left in an open tank / carb. Not what is stored in a sealed container.
  6. Ah ok. I will PM you.
  7. Did you miss this?
  8. Which model, what year / condition & where are you? Any pics? I wish the VAT rate would go down lol.
  9. How does yours compare to this one New Lumag firewood petrol engine processor. Full professional dealer support. | eBay
  10. Is that 3/4 or 3 or 4? I am considering yours. However as its for home use the vat adds another £1k on top. Your about 150 miles from me or I would pop round to see it in action. Do you hold stock of these or is that why the delivery is included as it comes from the supplier & I will need to assemble it? I cant see in the photos or video, does it have suspension on the wheels? Forum discount ? Well if you dont ask you dont get.
  11. I'm looking for a cheap firewood processor. It can be PTO or engine powered but not electric. Not to fussy re make or model. Pref no VAT as its for my personal use. Smaller ones preferred due to costs.
  12. I was going to offer you £2.3k but was waiting for you to reply to my email questions. I now see you have sold it already on eBay for less.
  13. Just under £6k plus VAT.
  14. If you have an engine running with no load it is only producing minimal power to keep the speed up. As you add load the governor will add fuel to allow the engine to produce more power at the same speed. Power out is not fixed re rpm. The outputs are quoted maximums. IE 60hp at 3000rpm. You can do 3000rpm at less power out. The danger is as you say if you push it the engine can supply too much power. So thats a good reason to have a slip clutch or shear bolt.
  15. The engine wont be using all its power. If a tool needs 40hp at 540rpm that is all the tractor will supply. If the tool starts to bog down the tractor will up the power to try to keep it at 540rpm. If the tool bogs down too much the shear bolt will shear.
  16. I have emailed you. Is it the Mk2? Lets have some pictures.
  17. Faster moving stock too.
  18. Your not alone.
  19. Get weight plates for the wheels too then.
  20. This is why lorries have 5th wheels. The pressure point/loading is in the middle of the tow vehicle so it passes to the front & rear equally.
  21. Start weighing you nose weight once loaded at the height your tow ball will be once loaded.
  22. No No No, level or slightly nose DOWN (not because the ball is pulling the trailer down but due to good design, matching trailer & tow vehicle & suitable nose weight) Nose up leads to trailers dancing behind the vehicle. The worse ones are the small trailers behind vans & pickup. They bounce side to side hopping from one wheel to the other.
  23. If I had a OEM trailer kit then my Astra has a second stability program to account for the trailer too.
  24. The damper might be reducing the snaking but its not going to stop jack knifing due to no load on the rear of the truck if you brake heavy on a bend or the road is slippy. Dont use a damper to correct a badly loaded trailer. You need some nose weight at all times. What you have when you force it on is negative nose weight. Not good. Re the OP, most likely a combination of factors. To little nose weight trailer not riding level to slightly nose down, never have it nose up excessive steering input (the landrover syndrome of rocking the wheel back & forth) To much weight on the rear of the trailer or even on one side. If its got solid sides then wind or the effect of larger vehicles passing or being passed causing pressure to move from in front of the wheels to behind (or vis versa) causing the wag / snake.
