  1. Thats what mine shows too. There was a period that the restrictions codes were all missing. During that time I had a full motorcycle licence not a restricted one...
  2. Oh so now we have a difference of opinions. One paper licence checked online is still 12000kg & one is now 8250kg.
  3. That is good to know. It does not. Only if you move change name etc etc.
  4. The time to claim it was in 1997.
  5. The licence check wont flag anything. It just allows you to look at what points, full & provisional vehicles you are allowed to drive. Ignorance of the law is no defence. Its up to you to keep current re laws. Its been in force for over 20 years. But like I said I do not yet know for sure if a holder of a paper licence still has the 12000kg allowance or not. I was hoping to find out if you checked. They did run TV & media adverts re this. Plus all registered haulage companies employing drivers were notified so they could get any drivers to claim the allowance.
  6. Lots are now adjustable via the computer. I can alter the wheel size in the settings via the dealer plug in computer to alter how accurate it is. Currently I have it set to 3mph over read across the speed range.
  7. At the time you did have the chance to claim the full 12000kg.
  8. All campers now need the licence for the weight they are registered at. No fit its all good stuff.
  9. You cant. You missed the boat of keeping it years ago. My understanding is that you already dont have that allowance even though it is on your licence. If you have the time use the view a licence check system (you will also need you NI number) to see what it says & let me know please.
  10. Did you have to do the gear change exercise? You can still do it in a manual. Lots of trainers now use auto as they can.
  11. Forgot to add doc to the reply. VOSA Operating Licence B+E cat.pdf
  12. I am already on it. My money is on a low grade tech sorting the website made a few short cuts with the coding or checking the specs thinking BE was BE for everyone.
  13. For LICENCE reasons they use PLATED weights. For Construction & Use regs they use real weights. So IF you answer the 3 questions & say no to at least one of them (and are not over loaded) you have nothing to fear re your LICENCE. People mix up Licences, C&U & makers specs / recommendations. All have different rules re how they are enforced.
  14. No towing limit / GTW = no towing allowed at all. Landrovers were rated to 4000kg max with air brakes. Ask landrover. They sold a lot of cars with weight plates with no GTW stamped on them for sale overseas. Some were re imported & can now not tow at all.
  15. That is true however the vehicle would have to be rated for it too. From memory the only ones were landrovers rated to 4000kg. Now all BE is 3500kg as I found out when I looked at my licence using the view a licence service. I am not sure if this is a mistake or a retrospective change.
  16. Wow you want your monies worth. 1, Read attached doc re O licence. Then see if you are hire & reward or not 2, If an item is part of the vehicle it counts for unladen weight so greedy board would be included. If the boxes are the load you would be ok. If they are carrying the load as part of the trailer you are not. 3, I dont know of any exemptions that would apply to plant in this case. 4, Yes, please be clear what is & what is not Hire & Reward. 5, Yes under 3500kg MAM 6, Nope. BE allows a vehicle of 3500kg & a trailer of 3500kg. Not 7000kg in total 7, A C1E might cover it. However again its not quite as easy as the trailer cant weigh more than the vehicle for standard C1E. There is an allowance for mini artics but not sure if it applies to C1E 107 restricted 8250kg IE grandad rights. Or if its just for full 12000kg C1E. Its interesting but I have never had an actual case so never got to the bottom of it. The hire & reward definition for O licence MIGHT not be the one used for tacho. Police see it as any financial gain is hire or reward. Hope that helps This personal advice is worth the price that you paid for it
  17. The trailer would. I thought they were on about the tow vehicle? On the trailer just paint on the MAM you want as long as all the component parts are rated to a higher weight.
  18. That is correct as long as the combine weight you mention is the plated weight not real weights. It is the result you will get from the 3 questions.
  19. Wrong. You keep your B & BE plus a few others. You will loose your other vocational stuff (LGV PSV etc) if you dont do the medicals.
  20. If you give me more details I can try to find out.
  21. Which is exactly the result IF you answer the 3 questions. Dont look at them in isolation ALL 3 answers must be YES to need the test. You can EITHER tow 750kg OR Combined mass of 3500kg.
  22. HGV 2 & 3 can be C. HGV 2 & 3 can be CE restricted. HGV 1 CE full HGV 2 was still ridged just more weight / axles.
  23. True but I cant see any government proposing MOT / driver training / re testing for the humans. Just look at the affront caused in this thread re trailer licences & now you want to retrain / test ALL drivers..........
  24. There was also a period of time after the 97 change that you could apply to keep the full 12000kg & not get the 8250kg if you were actually using it. Just like when they did away with HGV 1 2 & 3 & made CE C C1E & C1. Again not my area but I think this is right. If you had a HGV 2 or 3 you would get a C but could get CE IF you had been towing with your 2 or 3.
  25. You do know that they make some of the most reliable cars available? The benefit is safer cars on the road.
