  1. Cant help any more than suggest you look at the parts manual for it. They often show exploded pics of the assembly.
  2. Aprox 100kg per 10% increase in moisture should also allow for the 10% shrinkage in volume from wet to dry.
  3. I am tempted to sell the msa220 & get an Ego as I already have two bigger bats for that system. Has anyone got real world experience of the ego saws?
  4. If your cutting smaller stuff then yes 2 would be ok. However if your doing stuff nearer its max you would need 3 or 4 bats to keep up with constant use. I use mine to trim stuff prior to putting through the processor & the odd max diameter to cut big bent bits into shorter straighter bits. The latter really takes the bat lift down mainly due to heat build up. For that 2 bats does me fine. In fact I could even use one putting it back on charge between use.
  5. Whilst your right re small hgv category when you apply you list the vehicles you want. So they know what you have. You dont have to be able to turn around, the site just needs to be suitable. All the things you mention have come from people wanting a full sized hgv at home. Apply for a 7,5t & you should get it unless you live in an area with a no work from home covenant. You would be on a restricted licence which is easier both financially re savings / access to funds & re 6 to 12 weekly checks. You also dont need a full TM & can manage yourself. Also easier to prove you can self maintain if you want. This is the rule re the site. You’ll need to show that your operating centre: is large enough has safe access is in an environmentally acceptable location Objections may be made on the grounds of: your fitness to operate your financial arrangements your professional competence the environmental impact of the operating centre the general suitability of the centre Your operating centre will need to meet certain conditions and not interfere with any local amenities. Certain things will be taken into account, like: its effect on the surrounding environment planning permissions or applications relating to the centre or the land near it the number, type and size of vehicles using the centre where and how vehicles will park how often and for what purpose the centre will be used So size is taken into account.
  6. Your yard can be your house if your deeds dont stop you. Especially with a small vehicle.
  7. There are differences in most vehicles. My 3500 daily has a smaller Chassis, 4 smaller wheels not 6, different axles and smaller brakes than my 5.1t.
  8. If your used to a splitter then yes your going to get more bits as each log is not individually crafted. However you will get the same issue with putting stuff through a 12 way on a processor. Both will give you more useable volume per man hour.
  9. Will you train the operator? Do you have all risk hire insurance? Who is responsible if it gets damaged? What processor? A posch 650 will cost more than a rock machine.
  10. Might as well go for a 10-12t. Same paperwork to run it.
  11. Poss the size of the wood we have here. They cut much longer wood than we do. So each bit is 2 or 3 times the weight of our 8" rings.
  12. You have to take certified training (very few registered trainers) to drive an elec van over 3500kg. Might as well take the C1 test.
  13. Ok I will bleat. That 6225kg is with a braked trailer. With an unbraked one its just 4250kg ie 750kg over loaded putting it in the over 15% group.
  14. They mean 30% over the MAM, GTW or axle limits not pay load allowance. So with a 3500kg vehicle thats 10% 350kg, 20% 700kg & 30% 1050kg.
  15. More like 100kg plus for the nose weight that needs to come of the MAM & rear axle limits.
  16. It was taken off you back in 97. Every licence holder got a letter plus it was all over the tv too. If you wanted to keep the full fat version you had to claim it with evidence that you had been using it. If I remember right you had a year to make the claim. Just keeping the old paper licence did not let you keep the 12000kg allowance.
  17. You had to pass the c1e test to get 12000kg. Not just the car test.
  18. They down rated it in 97 same as they did for everyone. They sent everyone a letter about it. In it it gave you the chance to claim the 12000 if you could prove you had been using it.
  19. It might be a cut and paste but its apples and oranges Pre 97 on your c1e 107 is 8250 gtw Post 97 is now 7000 gtw
  20. No they cant. Max trailer plated weight for a car driver is 3500kg so 5t is well out. Also some F150's will have plated weight over 3500kg so then cant be driven on a car licence either.

    On site firewood processing

We offer onsite processing of logs up to 420mm diameter. We can self load using out built in crane as long as we can park next to the stack. Production rates of up to 40 IBC per day depending on wood & site. Average rates around 30-35 IBC Fully insured for on site processing
  22. What weight is the trailer rated too? A crane capable of lifting 1.5T plus a trailer in the <=3500kg range might not leave enough usable payload for 1.5T. My 14 foot Ifor williams triple axle trailer & crane came in at about 1700-1800kg empty. I would expect the ex military trailer to be quite heavy to start with.
  23. Its built on to the trailer and powered by the same engine that runs the processor. Its a weimer (I think) 4100.
