  1. Our old WP30 processor used to use about 20 - 25L of petrol in an 8 hour shift. Oddly our current processor also uses 20-25L of Diesel in 8 hours but produces lots more.
  2. As well as every thing already mentioned I would also think about:- 1, being a ltd company 2, having service contract / records of all maintenance 3, water tight contracts 4, ensure they have hired in insurance cover
  3. Profits no. Wages & all costs covered yes. Plus they get charged travel & accommodation / subsidence. I would love to charge more but currently I am losing more jobs than I get so the clients just wont pay it. Odd when threads like this show how much they charge themselves out for with less kits & costs. Basically two client types:- 1, large sites that just need help to keep up that would rather make less per IBC sold than run out. 2, very small sites that dont have a processor. The issue is that some only see that its "free" for them to do it themselves as they dont count their own time. Or they charge so little per IBC they cant cover the extra £15-20. Very few smaller sites have an accurate handle on the costs per IBC they produce. Locally our charges are about £15 per IBC but further away that can go up to £20+ per IBC.
  4. That depends on how much work I want. I could be at it full time if I wanted to be away from home all the time. Shortly post covid it was full time for a while. However I tend to do it as an infill between doing my own firewood which I am doing more of & another business. Over last 2 or 3 years I have had a lot of work / business changes so its still settling out. Not sure if I want to expand / invest more time & money into the processing or just tick over for now.
  5. Most of my clients are happy that way too.
  6. Wow & I get grief charging £450 for two men & a processor for 8-4 & we will load, cut, split & drop into IBC ect. Between 1/2 & 3/4 of a 26t load per day.
  7. Not for personal use but try convincing them its personal use.
  8. What is the plated weight of that trailer?
  9. Was this designed by the same team that did the sub? Too soon?
  10. What is the rest of the tipper like? Looking for one & not adverse to sorting it out.
  11. 2012 but that would be a major alteration & prior to the change it was not a road going trailer.
  12. and then took it for an IVA
  13. Just remember its only towable off road.
  14. We just paid £1100 for an 8 week old Border collie Merle bitch. The B&W's were £450.
  15. Going on that I need to at least double my day rate
  16. Well in the end the rate was £20 per tonne that is in the stack. Its looking like 800-1000t aprox to come out. Should make a reasonable firewood pile Not sure on how much will be saw logs yet.
  17. The glass in the door & the panels to the side must be laminated or toughened for regs. Why so down on double glazed panels? You can fit them in your wood frames. Single glazed will be cold no matter what special glass / coatings you add. Yes they will be better than plain glass but not by any margin. Just fit double or even triple glazed ones with the correct safety glass. It might only be a porch but treat it like an air or heat lock to the house.
  18. I think there is another patch close by thats getting done soon too that will help.
  19. What is the going rate for a harvester & forwarder per ton? Level site with good access mostly softwood but some immature hardwoods. Roughly 10 acres clear fell. North Wales area.
  20. This is more like a row of small hinges where you pull out the pin.
  21. On my duun 420 i converted from a glue jointed belt to one with a joiner. Made installing it soo much easier.
  22. I think you might need to adjust your price unless you get very lucky. Firewood grade is well over that now never mind saw log grade.
  23. Going rate for softwood is £2100-2400 + Vat & hardwood £2600-2900 + vat Both inc delivery Had some joker try to quote me well north of £3k for a load.
