  2. Not totally true. Its been law for a while you had to record other work. You can now keep a record of other work log book style if you are an occasional driver. A simple text doc with work & rest recorded & you keep a copy with you & the office keeps a copy.
  3. None seem to go anywhere near large enough on the slots and have an open back. Open ended slot is 16mm. But I did find some numbers on it:- U(MIGHT BE A W)711-56DUUN 3932
  4. Does anyone know if you can get a chainsaw bar for a Dunn vm420 from anywhere apart from the dealers? Is it a standard part / fitment? Runs 404 1.6mm
  5. Your convincing me.
  6. Rivet would not fall out as the hole would never get bigger than the splayed head. They are not friction fit.
  7. Whats a good price? I paid £63 & some pennies to buy one local to a job. Paying £49.50 for 25L of the cheaper stuff. Also just bought some rocwood to try for £47.49 Local agri wanted over £90 for comma 30.
  8. Not used synth since I started using a processor but on my saw it was costing more in bar oil than petrol.
  9. How much per 20/25L & do you ship?
  10. True for bulk bags in general. But most builders bags are the small ones.
  11. Builders bags are more like 0.5 0.6m3.
  12. Thats were we come in
  13. That happened a while ago to 4.250T. They are now looking at doing it just for elec & removing or reducing the need for extra training.
  14. Well for a start everyone might get the C1 licence with no test. Some of the questions were about CPC ect. Not much point giving everyone the licence and keeping all the other limits the same.
  15. Why? Buy a 3.5t to start with. You will get more legal payload. If you want the capacity of the bigger one then just go that way & dont run over loaded. It might soon be easier to run vehicles over 3.5t so possibly now is not the time to be doing this.

  17. I have been using what ever oil I can find cheapest in my processor. Last delivery did not arrive on time so had to buy a barrel locally to the job. All they had was Oregon. Totally different beast. Using about 40% less oil, chain is not stretching (normally tighten twice a day & now fresh chains are fit & forget)or needing changing as much & bar wear massively reduced. Balances out the extra cost.
  18. Then sent for an IVA
  19. Hardwood or softwood in lengths up to 16" Rings cut to sub 10" thick below 20" diameter NO CHIP Willing to pay for good quality lengths over 2m long under 16" diameter.
  20. Interesting way of doing it. Only half way through it aprox plus the 2m3 of sawdust, chibbly bits, bark & crap thats fallen off will add up more than you would think too. Lets say I am exactly half way through then 1 IBC weighs 444kg. Sadly I dont have enough IBC's to finish the load.
  21. Did a few more hours this morning. Up to 26 IBC's now. I think I am about half way through the pile. Need more IBC's lol.
  22. Er no idea. 1.2m3 loose fill is about 0.6m3 solid I think. Fresh felled larch is 1.2t per m3 so if wet thats 720kg for the 0.6m3. This is at 30% so about half fresh felled I think. Still no idea but would guestimate 350-450kg. I welcome any thoughts on this. I see there is a larch thread re weights already too.
  23. You should see our road & approach roads. I wont say exactly but expect to pay around 70-90 per ton +VAT. However on very dry loads they tend to charge a capped rate to fill to top of pins. A lot depends on delivery cost. We are quite remote so tend to pay more.
  24. This stuff is quite dry, been down 12 months.
  25. Made a nice change today for two reasons. 1, I was processing my own logs for a change 2, it was lovely straight, graded softwood not bent hardwood Load got delivered late last night & I managed to spend some of the day today getting some processing done. Mostly on my own till my lad got in from work & helped for a couple of hours. Total of 5 hours but 3 on my own. So doing the loading & IBC changes myself. Got 8 done that way & another 8 done in two hours with help. Quite pleased with that as was not pushing as hard as we do on clients sites. Going on those numbers in an 8 hour day on my own I would do 21.3 IBC's & with help 32 IBC's. On jobs we dont normally deal with the IBC swaps so that would up the numbers a little too. This is the stack before I started, 23.1t This is it after the 16 IBC's A few more pics
