My first thought was: why didn't they just eat the deer jumping over the fence? Not sure that stacks up as an analogy quite as well as yours though .............. Afghan Tenderloin anyone?

Nice tip. I've never had much success with overwintering chillies so not too worried if I go in too heavy handed. Are there any advantages to overwintering them? I always just save a few back for seed and then go again every year. The cute round one is one that I picked up in Romania about 15 years ago, the long one hails from Turkey. Both hot enough to make their presence very much known with just a couple in a dish, but not so ridiculous that you have to be careful with them, if you get my drift. They're kind of getting towards a personal Landrace Strain status I guess.

Yep. With Chorizo if you're feeling decadent. (I'll credit that to AHPP, though I don't quite remember). My dad used to knock up something with Sprouts and cheese, that worked well also. They really don't deserve the bad rep. that they seem to have.

Oh yeah, it's Brussel season again. One of the few positives to this somewhat miserable time of year.

Not too bad a Chilli harvest so far this year. Plenty more on the plants but they'll have a race to ripen before it gets too cold now.

This is a No. 9 I think. Bit hard to see as it's rather corroded. On account of my losing it in the garden for a couple of years. After a quick wash, wire wool and oil up it was back up and running. Immortal!
