  1. So are we all agreed on £220+vat??
  2. Yeah, I didnt word it as I thought it in my head. I wasnt actually trying to call you sneaky, I said it sounded abit sneaky. Its all gone a bit messy and Ive forgotten the true point of my issue. I think i just didnt like the phrase "bang it out in an hour". Or something. It just came across to me as if you didnt care for the customer and their tree. Do you know what I mean??? (im not sure I do now) I think If you had put " its only a fairly small job in comparison to my usual work but obviously i do have overheads so there would be a price attached. Going off the photos I would estimate that figure to be around £100. Then I wouldnt have taken issue. Anyway no harm done. Sorry bud.
  3. From the photos given I would say £150 would seem About right.
  4. Yeah but doesnt make good financial sense to the customer who now knows (as you have put on a public forum) that you will be charging £100 to "bash" it out in an hour. Not really justifying your costs is it. Infact making you look a bit sneaky I think. No offence intended just feel its a bit unfair to the consumer for you to openly admit that you will have already earned your money that day.
  5. Access looks a nightmare so £550+vat and i will hide all the brash under the shrubs and blow the sawdust into next door.
  6. DE it is then Nigel. Get your wallet out. Haha
  7. Having used both I would always go with DE unless you are on a specific budget. My theorie is based upon the fact that the extra strength is there if you need/want to utilise it and if money isnt the issue then why would you want to go for a "cheaper option". DE is more expensive for a reason. However PB is a very capable rope and you would be hard pressed under normal circumstances to exceed the limit. Surely.
  8. A single cab holds 1.3 Cubic metres level and 2cube mounded right up. Id guess a king cab would hold 1cube level. Can you not find anything on a Nissan website to find true spec. Easiest thing is to fill cubic metre bags to quantify your wood and then chuck it in the back loose when it gets ordered???
  9. Save some money by not buying steel Karabiners and just tie knots instead. Much better.
  10. Bumped into this Acer the other day, was a really friendly chap and turned out his name was also Frank.
  11. That would involve buying 3 or 4 in the first place though Bill.
  12. Sure that isnt a "granny knot" haha.
  13. Me too. Had friday off for little ones birthday and havent done anything since. Every ceiling fan in the house is on and its too hot to be working. Just so happens that the patio set and the coffee is just the right temperature for a bit of R&R. Actually the wife has got a dentist appointment and I ve got the kids so there wont be much snoozing in the shade but hey ho. Ive got shorts and flip flops on which is better than chainsaw pants.
  14. Yes yes and yes. Brilliant idea. Seriously. That would be awesome and truly worthwhile.
  15. Will there be some sort of minimum criteria for a listing or can anyone call themselves Arborist and sign up???
  16. Correct. The small hole is on the top and once whatever you shove in locks, the whole autocut head will twist off by hand.
  17. Heres another hinge from the same job. This time a not so pretty Beech.
  18. Now, now. You say sissy, but what you dont realise is that the pull line was attached to a grappling hook that I tossed into the back of a bus as it drove past on the main road. 30 secs after that photo was taken all hell broke loose as 3ton of oak log was dragged up the high street and through a busy market place. Haha. Tractor was actually a little Kubota.
  19. As always. Haha. I just assumed they were all supposed to look like that.
  20. GoPro HD is in transit on its way here. Woohoo. Filmy filmy edit edit Yooooootube
  21. I not only take my hat off, I will bow before you. Big kit is awesome but Harvesters are something else. Cant wait for pictures.
