  1. Day 3 was this Big Beech. Crash, Bang, Wallop. Booyaa!!!
  2. Think you can get 26 metre ones pal.
  3. Next up was a lovely Oak set right on a corner of the main driveway on a busy Junction. Best plan of attack was Go Big and Go Quick. This worked well. This was Day two.
  4. Frank and Jeff visited Wales recently for some tree cutting fun. Heres a few pictures of what went down. Hope you like them. First up is a Weeping Ash set in an awkward spot over a wall and a clay lined pool in one of the formal areas, near an expensive tea rooms. Decided MEWP would make things less tricky. This was Day one.
  5. Why did it need to come down? Doesnt seem to be many targets below it. How come the plan for habitat changed?? Lol.
  6. There was an article in this months Land Rover magazine about a spate of front headlamps starting to go missing fron Discos aswell. You really cant have anything these days.
  7. More problems with washing mashines come from washing Chainsaw pant without shaking them off properly first. Chuck the rope in a pillow case first to protect it a bit.
  8. And you can have fun with your quad on a weekend. Haha.
  9. Now there is an idea!!!! Put a seat on it and ill have one. Hold on thats just a mini forwarding trailer with a quad bike haha.
  10. I believe in the product and know it wouldnt have ever gone into production if it wasnt worth using. I would have one like a shot 2moro if I could justify it. However as I said, I just havent come across a job that would warrant it since it was brought to market. I have always tried to purchase things when I know I need it for a job rather than buying it and it collecting dust before being used.
  11. I'll have you know that Ive been pumping iron and will soon be buff like Lorry Thompson. then I will be able to carry it myself.
  12. I liked the look of the product when it was a prototype and even more so when it was launched. However since then I have still not found even one job worth thinking about having one.
  13. To be fair, the guy on the left looks like he could have picked that piece up over his shoulder and carried it out the garden. Haha
  14. Any special prices in mind for any upcoming shows?
  15. That sounds like a really good plan. 2years groundying? 8years as a climber? Set up in 10 years time?? Good luck bud.
  16. What an interesting thread. Would love to be at the conference but busy. A detailed write up would be most interesting and well appreciated. How many drive into (or through) "green" areas or "leafy suburbs" with lots of mature trees and think to themselves "oh this is a lovely area, I'd love to live around here". Yet when they buy their brand new build houses, the tree in the front garden is the first thing to get the chop as it "blocks light" or drops leaves.
  17. As said just register your self employed with the taxman. Then all you will need is a wing and a prayer, looking to start up a business during a recession when you obviously have no experience of the job or business in general. Good luck mate
  18. Some real thought and effort has gone into that. Haha.
  19. You sure it was a chestnut?? Haha.
  20. Qualifications dont get you lots of work, and you dont even need all the NPTC's to get decent jobs. Infact you dont legally need any quals / tickets anyway.
  21. Exactly, every tree is different, not just species.
  22. I was going to suggest that maybe work was a bit slack.....haha. Whats the state of the canopy on the previously ring barked tree???
  23. Frank

    sharpening

I think the phrase should have been "now you know how to sharpen a saw". haha Practise, practise, practise. let the file glide, dont try and make it dig, if you get what I mean.
  24. Absolutely awesome. What an amazing place to live, and what a fantastic project. please keep us up to date with regular postings of how you are getting on. I love seeing stuff like this. Great stuff. Do you have a wind turbine???
