  1. I’m literally in the process of doing this - I’ve just bought the motor and got the coupling today, just need to make up the mounting bracket and some hoses and we will see what it can pull!
  2. The woman is a complete twat as far as I’m concerned, I doubt it would be possible for anyone to have a conversation with her without her finding something to take offence over. It’s a total stitch-up job, very unfair that she’s been given the air time she has IMO.
  3. They require power but work well even buried deep in a machine. I still don’t see why they aren’t simply an integral part of the control box. The machine could still be stolen but it would be more difficult to bypass/remove the tracker, and would be far more difficult to subsequently put back to ‘normal’ use. Telematics is common on agricultural and construction machinery nowadays - the manufacturers know where machines are and what they are doing. I can’t personally see it being a massive step up to include this tech (at a basic level) in woodchippers.
  4. As an owner I’d look at it as a very positive selling point if a particular manufacturer offered a factory installed tracking system. Even if the location data was only accessible to the manufacturer it would be a brilliant USP.
  5. David Cuddy gives good advice about machine maintenance here.
  6. I’m surprised manufacturers don’t build them in to the control boxes as standard so they couldn’t be removed/bypassed etc without affecting the operation of the machine.
  7. If it’s to do with monkeys I’m all over it, that’s what I live for!
  8. I doubt many on this thread will want to read this… A story about Bitcoin and monkeys - Chatfield CHATFIELDPRIVATECLIENT.COM A lot of monkeys lived near a village. One day a merchant came to the village to buy the monkeys. He...
  9. I bought a Brian James plant trailer a few years ago after having a bit of a fallout with IW over a ‘Friday built’ trailer of theirs. It felt like an upgrade when I collected it but turned out to be a load of crap - kept cracking through the body. I leant it to a mate a year or so ago and don’t miss it!!!
  10. It’s pretty normal for 3pl to drop only by gravity/weight (not forced down). You can drop it and then reverse a bit to get some bite if necessary. Depending on how your linkage control works make sure it can continue to float/drop further when the winch pulls itself into the ground (ie it isn’t locked into position). This can be an issue sometimes with electric controlled linkages if you turn the tractor off and back on for example.
  11. Is that the neighbour’s house? If so I’d suggest they are having your tree forced upon them somewhat… Emotional attachment aside, that’s not really a great choice of tree for that location I’m afraid.
  12. Yeah, it is ace! I bolted a 200 tdi with a high ratio transfer box in it and it goes like stink too! Everything is otherwise original and can be converted back to standard with spanners - no cutting/welding/bodging etc.
  13. Finally took some pics of the oe tyres against the BFGs - I’ve also fitted some 30mm spacers tonight which have made a massive difference (imo) to the ‘fit’ of the wheels/tyres. They are still well within the standard bodywork (which shows how ‘inboard’ the standard setup is). The OE wheels are really nice, they just look ridiculous with the standard tyres and offset I reckon!
  14. I did it to a real nasty pisstaking customer 13 years ago, had the police around to my house (the customer had subsequently reported me for fly tipping), I showed the policeman the message/email trail over a brew and they left happy that it was a civil matter. I’ve used Thomas Higgins in a similar situation since and it was much easier (and I got my money with interest!).
  15. Is anyone on here from Hull? I’ve got a little job for a good customer taking out some trees and shrubs from in from of a retail premises (can drive right upto if with a van and chipper, no more than a transit load of chip to get rid of). Just wondered if anyone has any contacts over there - it’s a 320 mile round trip for me….
  16. I don’t know tbh - likewise with our dishwasher/washing machine/tumble dryer, they are never off. I often wonder if next door are plugged into us too!…..
  17. They always have been - their value is proven and (compared to made up geek-coin) non-volatile. I’d rather have one diamond than a million ‘credits’ personally.
  18. We now pay approx £300 a month dd for electric with Octopus (no gas here, also spend a fair lump on oil each year). It was £250 for ever and we were always in credit, but that was there or thereabouts. I downloaded a recent bill the other day as needed to prove my address with a utility bill - the annual projection for our electricity printed on the top was £6500!!! WTF - that isn’t anywhere near £300 x 12 (which is what we pay and what we appear to use as our balance is pretty much always zero). Not sure what the game is really?
  19. It is though - all of those are both physical and have provenance. They aren’t simply a geek’s made up scam-dosh.
  20. When they bandied about the £7mil a day hotel costs it worked out at approx £150 a day/person by my junior school maths. That is not in any way cheap - the hotels are making big money at that. There is money being made hand-over-fist by everyone involved in the asylum job…
  21. These are the funniest?… My personal thoughts about cyclists are given more weight every day!
  22. Great post! John - point 2 (particularly the last couple of sentences) are essentially what I was going to post, but with less politeness.
  23. We are entering a worldwide recession - the only people claiming cryptos are now cheap are people who own them. They were cheap 15 years ago, they’ve been mental of late (and in reality still are, just a bit less mental than people who got in too late hope)…. IMO of course!
  24. Any pics of your hedges?
