    I kind of think it's fair enough - I heard that Honey Bros bid at all of the last remaining stock from Stihl and managed to secure the lot. If you've got the balls to do that then I guess you are able to then name your price. Supply and demand will sort it out in the end (I'm annoyed with myself as I missed the last one at George Carrs - when I phoned back to buy it they had just sold it!) I can't bring myself to spend what HB are now asking, but I'm sure some people will.

    One of my mates is selling Samurai 330s on ebay samurai c330 (similar to a silky) | eBay For the money they are brilliant!

    You won't find it in BS3998 but we've ratchet strapped them really tightly before now and then wired them up before removing the straps, and then cut them back hard around the sides to remove any bulges (making sure you don't sever anything that is supporting life further up the tree obviously). They look terrible when you first do them but they grow back well within a season and end up a lot narrower and more formal looking. You need good strong wire, you can apply a lot of tension with a 5 tonne ratchet strap and you don't want it going pop... (before anyone shoots me down for tree mutilation, this was done as a last resort as the owner was going to remove them otherwise). They now look fantastic as they are regularly cut with a hedgecutter.

    I've just had a reply from Friday-Ad (9.00pm on a Sunday night - pretty good service to be fair, much better than eBay) letting me know that the ad in question was placed in October last year. I hadn't even bought the now stolen chipper at that time, so it unfortunately isn't relevant!

    I hadn't seen that ad and I can't open the picture (if there was one) as it is listed as sold. I've emailed Friday Ad for a copy of it though - if they can send me one I'll know instantly if it was my machine. Cheers for the heads up. Thanks everyone else too, I've had loads of good leads and I'm really grateful to everybody who is keeping an eye out.

    Apparently he searched for wood chipper and woodchipper and it came up somewhere. As an aside, the following link on farm trader is my actual chipper (thank you to those that noticed). It is the original advert from which I bought the machine last November - for some reason it is still running on Autotrader.     Great job - I think you should be commended for including the little mishaps in the finished vid, it's stuff like that that helps us all learn. You could have made the whole thing look perfect and we'd have known no different. Superb!

    Sorry, no. I had a phone call today off a legendary Arbtalker who saw it and thought nothing at the time but twigged in the middle of the night last night and went hunting for more info, only to draw a blank. that's all I really know about this particular lead.

    Thanks Geoff, I appreciate it! I've been in touch, they give nothing out over the phone that you can't find out yourself through the site, but I've emailed all the details to another department that deals with this sort of thing. It's a bit slowly slowly though... Keep your eyes peeled, there's still £1000 up for grabs if you can find my machine!

    I'll second that - even a 16-23 outperforms the 190 in my opinion. The 190 is a very good machine though, much much better than the 150.

    Stereo - that's very kind of you to go to the trouble. Unfortunately it is none of those you have sent me. I have trawled through all of the ended listings I can think of that are relevant (ie chipper, wood chipper, woodchipper, shredder, greenmech etc) and can't find the one that was mentioned. Apparently the listing talked about bankrupt or liquidated stock, but I have no idea regarding title etc. Thanks again for what you have done, it means a lot.

    I don't suppose anybody on here saw a Greenmech chipper on eBay on Monday - it appears that the listing has been deleted but there is a chance it is my stolen 1928. I'm after any info possible if you saw it. An Arbtalker alerted me to it but so far I have drawn a bit of a blank.

    What was the listing? Someone saw a spurious listing for a Greenmech chipper on Monday this week but I can't find any sign of it now and I would be interested in a bit more info if anyone else saw it.

    Man decapitated in wood chipper accident, coroner says | Reuters Dunno if it has been posted elsewhere, and not 100% clear if the rope went into the chipper or was being pulled by a winch, but terribly sad whatever the circumstances. I thought it had a relevance to this post though.

    Nope - there is still £1000 up for grabs if anyone has any info. There was a rumour it might be in the St Helens area - keep your eyes peeled 'cos I want it back!

    I've got a 52 plate Toyota Dyna with the 2.5 d4d hilux engine and I would recommend you avoid them like the plague - mine's had a fuel pump (£1k) and an EDU (which I'd never heard of and even the Toyota dealers I spoke to had never fitted one) for another £1k in the last 12 months, plus a £350 sump as the original had rusted through. It's only done 110k miles.

    That's a brilliant film - thank you for posting! Sad to see the big old trees coming down but absolutely fascinating! Those blokes were double-hard, we are all little girls by comparison!

    Treeseer - I agree with your take on this, but surely 9% and 4% are way too specific and therefore a little pointless. How can that be measured accurately?

    Pete, why don't you do a PTO 1928? I think there would be a good market for it if you could make it light enough.
