As you are all no doubt aware the Petzl ZigZag is now officially to be recalled. We have just received word from Lyon of the following instruction • This will be handled entirely by Lyon Equipment for all Zigzags in the UK and Ireland, attached are the finer details of the recall and the plan from Petzl. • All products sold by you outside the UK and Ireland will be refunded by the distributor in the local country where the Zigzag has been shipped to. • If you could please distribute out the Recall Notice to all customers who have received a Zigzag. We will take care of things from then on. • The Recall notice contains contact details for us and what actions the end user should take. • To follow later this morning is a copy of the customer return form, this if for YOUR reference and for assisting you if a customer is in store looking for a refund. • If the customer demands that you give them a refund, then you can’t deny them this, please do so and let us know so we can collect the Zigzag from you and organise your credit. • We are creating a mailing pack that we will send out to end users containing the return form and a return envelope so we can collect the Zigzag direct from the end user. • If a customer wants the equipment pack offered from Petzl with the additional 30% of cost, this can ONLY be done by us the distributor and not by you the retailer. What about this as a suggestion. Sliding double fishermans onto a Pinto with spacer. Sliding fishermans will cinch down onto the pulley and MIGHT streamline the knot behind the pulley making it easier to retrieve (possibly!).
