I know those oval karabiners are great but just wondering if an HMS with some rubber bands on would keep the LJ mounted nearer to the gate (slight off centre) so that the LJ sits straighter? That might straighten it, but its not really a solution because oval krabs are so popular now that most people would be using them, and centering the load is a good idea. I guess the real question is, does that twisting matter?

Yes, I was after something like that, to go on a mount thats clips onto a tow hitch. Might get round to it one day.

What sort of winch? I bought a hitch mounting plate years ago but have still not bought a winch to mount on it!!

I got me one of these wrope wrenches last week but still not had a chance to use it! Does it work ok with a spiderjack or is it better with a lockjack? I will probably start with a friction hitch, but I have a spiderjack already so if it will go with that I might try it that way too.

Yeah, I'm just messing with you. Im lucky that I dont suffer sore hands much, and I wear gloves enough to stop them getting dry and cracked. If I had any trouble I would use whatever was needed. Oh, and I am older already, nearly twenty years in treework and not got rough or sore hands at all.

Hi mate. I have been busy!!! Wont go into details but she was tall and slim! Back to normality now though. Got a good week skiing in for christmas in Val D'isere but nowhere near as cheap as last year though. How are you, are where are you these days?

Oh yeah, happy new year everyone! I'll make more effort, promise! I wouldnt necessarily advocate trailer MOT's I'm not one for wantign too much extra red tape if we can get away without it, but lighting sockets seems to make sense, if fitted, and if not fitted then of course no worries. Might be 13pin only, dont know, just saying what I heard from my MOT bloke who does the LDV, he says it will be inlcuded from May and mines mot 13 pin. Steve, can text me so I can save your number again? I lost my phone while Skiing and have no back up of the SIM !!

NOt sure if this has been covered ( i have been busy ) but i had to day that.....from May of this year, trailer lighting sockets (if fitted) are to be inlcuded in the vehicles MOT test. I think this is a good thing, see far too many trailers with dodgy lights. Of course it wont stop anyone hitching up a non working trailer to a fully functioning vehicle but at least its one step towards getting things working.

Mine is not like that though, on mine the chip box is narrower than the width of the tipper so that leaves a gap down the side, only big enough for poles saws and rakes and stuff though, not kit bags or saws.

This is done with the drift in HD mode. Only problem for me is that my old computer wont edit HD very well, so it works ok if you just film one things, but editing a days work into a short clip is hard work for me, I will have to get a new computer soon though. My older vides on you tube were done with the standard version of the drift X170 and they are plenty good enough quality IMO. [ame] [/ame]

Should be through a rope guide (or similar) not over a branch. But the spliced end attaches in front of the hitch mot left or right of it so, no, it makes no difference but if you are close to the branch then it will twist the hitchclimber one way or the other. Since you are now no longer hip thrusting, the left or right handed method no longer applies, either hands can be used to pull the rope down towars the HC so again, no, left or right makes no difference.

20 inch frame!! Do they make such a thing! I have met you and I know you dont need a 20inch frame! My Giant that I put pics up of before is a 15inch and it was a toss between that and 17 and I'm glad I went smaller. You can put the seat right up to get the height but dont do it by getting a big frame. my Old saracen that I have just restored is a 21inch and its way too big for any serious off road, even though we all have big bike years ago it was a mistake then that should not be repeated now. Get the smallest you possible can and put the seat up high!

I have a small portable 25t machine, runs of its own engine and can be used vertically or horizontally. I do hire it out, usually costs £150.00 and for that you can have it a week, but you might be a bit far from me though so I cant deliver it for that money. However, dependign on where you are exactly I might be coming that way in a week or so, might be able to arrange something, like I deliver but you bring it back the next week? Let me know if you cant find anything nearer.
