  1. Shame they describied Jo as "EX" world champion, since she is now champion again. Would have been better to describe her as "former" WC.
  2. That wasn't exactly flying!! I'm no great footlocker and that was quicker than my current form but it was certainly not fast! I noticed Mr Turnbul in the background looking on, heres how he would of done it........ [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t4orTP2x7kI]YouTube - Jon T Footlock France 2006[/ame]
  3. Also when you tip the corner makes a pointy bit that can poke you in the eye when you go round back to assist the chip out onto the pile. Cuttign it at the corresponding angle to your tipper angle makes for an upright edge on the back when tipping! Mine is square though and nearly pokes my eye out everytime!! Its metal not ply, but I might cut the angle off one day, and its flaps about a bit.
  4. Wasn't too bad? All good fun.
  5. Nowt to do with me, I just noticed it was on. I hope its great. At least it will be good to see Jo on the telly!!
  6. For the record I predict it will be rubbish but fun. I got them the location here in chelt and watched the filming, amazing how long it takes for what will probably be a few minutes.
  7. I think tonights episode on 5 is the one where they go tree climbing with Jo Hedger and then to the trade fair to compete. All filmed last year, here in Cheltenham and at the trade fair.
  8. Was it good? I'm sure it must have been, but how good??
  9. BTW, I work on a few large estates but I've never had any contract and have not heard of any havign contracts with tree surgeons. I'm employed there forever as long as I behave myself. Thats how I see it.
  10. Estates and manors usually know who does what in their area. If they already have a tree surgeon then they stick with him and if he goes or lets them down or something then they would ask around and find someone else. Approaching them might work if they are currently looking for someone new, but generally I doubt it would work unless you got lucky. Often its the game keepers who know someone who knows someone, so its best to keep in with them and not the estate owners.
  11. Used to have one in Swindon. not used it myself, but the chipper was mounted on the top deck, you could chip over the side or into a container on the lower deck. You won't need any TM because you are mobile, a bit like gully cleaning, you need a blue arrows on the back and some flashing lights, thats about it.
  12. If you have been offered full time work then surely it doesn't matter if they don't have work for you?? You still get paid, thats the whole point of full time work! Take it while you can, self employed is great but crap at the same time and no mortgages/loans etc available to SE at good rates at the moment so it generaly sucks.
  13. If they have adequate insurance that is!!
  14. Their employee insurance covers you for injury as a result of their mistakes, their public liability covers what you do to the public or customers and you can have your own personal injury insurance if you want. Yes, you only need your own PL insurance for your own jobs.
  15. Its all your own choice!! You don't need any insurance if your working for other companies.

I think it will be a holywood film, not straight to TV/rental type thing. The media orchestration from the Chilean govt. has been awsome and done without detractign fromt he real importance of getting the folk out. All amazign stuff, I was expecting some bigger beards though.
  21. Oh yes, I forgot about Hi vee!! Good rope, I've got one thats used for natural lowering, and generally get us out of bovver, its good stuff. At 7 stone, you won't get much bounce in any rope but thats a good thing. I'm guessing small hands too?? Maybe Blaze (or any 11mm) would be perfect for you. The only thing most (some) bloked have with yale is its too small to grip but you should be fine, and its so light and compact, no point dragging a 12-13mm rope round a tree if you don't have to.
  22. Maybe it would have started on tuesday anyway? Who knows. Why did you decide to use WD40 on it? WD40 is like the footballers magic sponge!! Seems to cure everything that wasn't broke in the first place.
  23. Brillo pads mate, bring out the shine!!
  24. If you have 1900 quid to spend, you will get more from an LDV than anything else. Mine was £2600 for a '52 plate with 36K miles, bargain!!
  25. I only use it when I fill my truck up with jet A1, but then I rerley put a whole tank in at once, I just add a few litres to a half tank of DERV.
