  1. I don't get it!! Its so slow, that you load all the spaces up and then still have to wait for another to be available, so you might as well just do one at a time anyway.
  2. Yep, we know that, I dont mean run in, I mean a year or two later and its still getting better.
  3. It uses less power to run a semi chisel, so as the bar get bigger you can ( not essential) move to a semi chisel chain. Of course you could run semi chisel on all bars but chisels are better, although they need to be super sharp all the time. A semi chisel will cope with being a bit blunt much better than a chisel will. So, for example, cutting stumps to the ground (the thing that you are likely to want the 30inch bar for) a semi chisel is much better.

    Ebay value!!!!

Don't forget that some people sell a load of junk on ebay from the shed or attic etc. then they have loads of "cash" sitting in thier paypal accounts. SO they might pay a bit more for something on ebay but its paid for with cash that never really existed in the first place. Of course you could transfer the money form paypal to your account and lose a few % in the process then buy the saw or whatever cheaper, but I personally (beign self employed) don't want the hassle of extra money comeing into my account, especially if its then used for work stuff. If you claimed back the cost of the saw against tax then you would have to claim the money in from ebay as income, so in the end its really not worth it. If I could convert a load of rubbish into 600 paypal units and then buy an ms260 for 600 of those units I would think I have done very well out of the deal. I have never ever put any actual money into paypal and i have never ever taken any out either, it just sits there and gets used for stuff.
  7. And a semi chisel chain on the 30inch would be betterer too.
  8. mine has a 15 inch bar, no point in any bigger than that, but it seems awesome now, really quite like using it for logging, mostly its the chipper saw!
  9. I was going to suggest he asked you JUstin.! Thats cool then, it all fits. Put the 24 inch on the 66, put a 18-20 inch on the 441 and happy days. Plus add the 8 tooth sprocket ( as huck says) on the 66 and you are away, although I think you then need an extra chain link? Not sure, its been a while since I used an 8 tooth but I think I will go back to it!
  10. Um, the part number for the chain is the same for 24inch bar on both saws, but the part number for the bar is different but thats only becaue they list the rollamatic E bar for the 441 and the rollamatic E Super for the 66. SO thats not conclusive but I still dont think it will fit. HAve a try and see, and let us know.
  11. I don't think you can swap the bars, the distance bettween the mounts and the sprockets is different, hang on I'll check the catalogue.................
  12. Agreed, I want another 066, not a 661 !!
  13. I have an ms260 about a year old and it suddenly seems to have become really good! It was always good but it seems to be improving. I also bought an ms460 a while ago to replace an old 044, but I hated it and continued to use the 044. My groundie uses the 460 and about 2 years later I know think its got a lot better and might even be as good as my 044 now. Have I been missing the obvoius for all these years? Do they just get better once they are well and truely worn in?
  14. I would recomend a 24 inch bar (the one you have looks like 30???). Keep the longer bar for occasional use, a 24 inch bar on a 066 is an amazing thing! I have a strange love for my 066, its my second oldest saw and it still amazes me how good it is, I go from ms200 to 066 in the tree, no point messing with 460's etc. they are just ground saws.
  15. Grcs.
  16. If its only 25 years old then it has plenty of time left to get much bigger and more destructive. All cases are different, but you have one of the hardest species of trees to defend in these cases. If it were Leylandii, we would all say fell it. Not because its definatly the cause but because it could be and its "only" a Leylandii. Well Eucs are easily as destrcutive as Leylandii, if not more so, yet people seem to like them more and get emotional about them but fellign them just in case is still a reasonable plan. In my mind its "only" a Euc, and its "only" 25. Fell it now and put something nice in. Chances are (again all cases are different) your house would be cracking with no trees there at all! Poor building quality is the most common cause of subsidence, and trees only help start the process off. if the insurance is not valid unless you fell the tree then fell it, and they will have to pay if the subsidence gets worse.
  17. Get some acidophillus tablets!! They contain far more "good bacteria" than any of the yoghurts at a fraction of the price.
  18. And a clove hitch at the harness is better (easier) than the bowline.
  19. Its the antiobiotics that make you ill!! I have just taken some for a bad tooth, and it has brought on the worst man flu ever!! I hav enot been ill for nealry two years, then I take some antibiotics and I am ruined!! I get better form one cold and then catch another, its all bad!! WOrkign outside build your imune system, but antibiotics will kill it in no time at all!! Of course antibiotics are good for infections etc. my tooth is actually better, but they also kill off all the good bacterai that you need to fend off colds etc. I'm sure you have seent eh adverts for pro-biotic yoghurts and "yakult" (yuk) that are supposed to boost your immune system? Well they are all rubbish, you can get the same (actually better) effect from taking acidophilis tablets. They replace the good bacteria which are destroyed bythe anitbiotics. Go to to your Holland & Baretts, or nutigen store or maybe pharmacist and get soem acidophilus soon and say NO to anti biotics!!!
  20. Why do have to justify work stuff (or anything) to "the wife"?
  21. Do you own your house Tony?
  22. Oh, ok then, 97K on mortgage and another 15K on top of that.
  23. Are you including equity in property? If so I own minus something! My equity far out weighs any other borrowing by about 100K, ( I was lucky on my house purchase) but I couldn't afford to move house to a larger property, and I probably couldn't even get a mortgage now to buy my own house at the original purchase price let alone what its worth now!! Its all relative! You can't put a figure on quality of life!!!
  24. Oh yes I forgot that part!
  25. What did you do in the afternoon?
