What company?? Are you employed by them? What are you talking about? What do you actually do for a living? Surely you dont thin trees around a car par all year? Whats your actual job and type of employment ?

Seriously, what kind of work are you doing? Do you work on your own, employ people, or work for other companies? We are hear to help.
  5. I've had some nasty nicks sharpening without so gloves, so yes they are a good idea, but I still don't always where them!
  6. Presumably strong work gloves or riggers gloves are ok for sharpening, you dont need balistic chainsaw gloves for that. I have never owned any chainsaw gloves that i can remember. Pointless articles IMO.

    Website

What was the point of the thread then??
  8. Those foam edged ones are rubbish. If they sealed round your eyes they might actually work by stoppign the steam getting in, but they don't seal enough so the moist air get in but can't get out so they steam up. Looser fitting glasses woudl be better.
  9. Can you send me a CV of sorts? Nothing too flash, just some extra information? I'll pm you an e mail address.
  10. That reads "you will turn up hung over" cos your still running the list of "wills" not "will nots". Can I apply then!!!

What do you want/need PL insurance for? What kind of work are you doing?

    insurance

I did advise you not to bother. Unless you are working where you might risk the public, you really don't need it. IMO only of course. Others that have it will insist on everyone being on the same level playing field, but the ones that have it are probably better companies that could undercut you on price anyway, so no point in moanign about who has insurance or not.
  14. I think that tale is a bit like sending the new boy to the stores for a long weight!! Have you actually seen them with PB&M on their hands? No, cos they are out at sea, thats convenient! Its a wind up, he's waiting for you to come back to him and say it didn't work very well before he PHSL!!!
  15. Four wheel drive system out of an audi TT!! Not sure thats a good thing!
  16. Another thing to mention is that when you call to get insurance you speak to SALES people. Not insurance claims people or loss adjusters or solicitors. They all come in later if necessary!!
  17. But that the whole point. They shouldn't be insuring anyone without knowing what they have got or haven't. Thats the farsicle thing about it. They will take your money, you'll be insured, but when it goes wrong its your fault if you didn't have the correct cs units so now your not insured!!

    VHS tapes!!

Does anyone still use VHS? I haven't had a player set up in my living room for years, all the tapes are in a box in the office and I have replaced some of them with DVD now. Yet I still can't bring myself to chuck them away!! Even the ones that I now have on proper (not even copied from tape) DVD!!
  20. Let him off christmas shopping! Best possible gift to any man!
  21. Cool! And does it have its own battery? If so what the life like on it?
  22. Hmmm, ok. I looked at a job the other day, where the clients said they would clear up and maybe hire a chipper if they could find one. (no access for mine of course). So, dave, would you hire it out to a tree guy then?
  23. Would you hire it out? Directly to a customer and let them get on with it?

    Splitters

I cant answer that question, but all of those type splitters still need you to lift the wood up onto a high-ish deck. What size wood are you splitting? If its tree surgery by product then it could be in huge rings and a ground level splitter would be better IMO. I've nothign but good things to say about this, although the speed of ram is not great it doesn't return all the way so its not like you a waiting for it to come all the way down each time. I have adapted mine to one handed use without any welding or anything.
