  1. That's 6 companies and a college I've heard have been cleared out between Cheltenham and bath in the last 6 weeks. We're a stones throw away from the a38 in a rural location so are just waiting for the morning when everything is gone. Security seems irrelevant to this gang, an incredibly professional operation which makes it seem unlikely to be the usual suspects. We're all a bit speechless at how many firms have been targeted and how much equipment has vanished. Would've thought the old bill might have been in contact with a heads up but nothing from them, get the impression they're as stumped as everyone else.
  2. Did mine at Plymouth uni. Resources and teaching staff were very good. Opportunity to specialise in a pathway in the 3rd year was great, and having the tamar valley with forests and mining heritage, dartmoor, and the south devon coast right on the doorstep made field-work excellent and accessable. Plymouth's not a bad spot to be based either. Nice and relaxed city, and very easy to escape into the countryside within a few minuted drive/ferry/train. I rate it!
  3. Cheers rupert, have sent you an e-mail.
  4. Based in Bishop's Cleeve nr. Cheltenham, happy to travel within reason! Have fairly recently passed CS30/31/38/39 (30/31 aug '10, 38/39 oct '10) and have a BSc in Environmental Science. Hold a full clean UK driving license, however only cat B. Have had experience working with local firm, however work is coming in on an inconsistent basis so would like to find somewhere else to build up my experience. Happy to drag wood all day, the occasional climb would be a bonus, just don't want to end up working indoors! Have resources to obtain own kit but have been holding off investing until i am sure i can get work on a more full-time basis and won't have to resort to a different career choice. Please help, unemployment leads to insanity Chris.
  5. nope, no probem at all, just give them a call to find out when they have spaces. The course dates are on their websites, although it's quicker to phone hartpury as theirs is painfully slow!
  6. Both Hartpury and the Royal Agricultural College send students to the same training provider, usually 2 students booked in from each college on each course. For CS30/31 it was £50 cheaper through Hartpury and CS38/39 was £130 cheaper through Hartpury. The only day you would spend at Hartpury college would be day 1 of CS30, with everything else based around the rural skills centre at Coates, and woodland on the Bathurst estate and Chedworth, so all pretty close to Cirencester. Hope this is of help, Chris.
