  1. Somebody else will have to post up the results I have tried posting twice and each time the system has thrown me out into the login screen which I then login again and the message does not get posted.
  2. According to the MB Trac manual the MBTrac 800 is 75hp not 100hp and only 60hp at the pto so will be lacking in grunt to run a big chipper.
  3. If you want a quick guide see below http://www.sewf.co.uk/links/SEWF_Chip_Spec.pdf otherwise you will have to trawl through the documents quoted if you want chapter and verse.
  4. Only excuse for no seat belt is a truck like mine old enough not to require one. Though I still cant get used to not wearing one.
  5. Dont ask me I just manufacture the fuel to specifications
  6. Give me a shout if you see me there I will be the one with a yellow moisture meter in my hand. I am taking it just to find out how wet some of this wood is. There was even dumpy bags of steam coal. There was also a load of chainsaws etc so if you have lost something recently it might be worth checking out.
  7. Well I hope the demand is there. I have just come back from Chelford delivering stuff for the Auction tomorrow and I have never seen so many dumpy bags of wet logs. Talking to one of the auctioneers about 6 dumpy bags and he spun round and said it was only a sample he was actually selling 2,500 in total. I will now have to go tomorrow just to find out what price they make.
  8. If your interested I use the same size recycled bags at £1.50 + VAT + postage and you can have as many as you like until I run out
  9. If your self build is heavily insulated to new building regs you may find a Dunsley Yorkshire will be to powerful. We have a listed old stone farmhouse with single glaze everywhere so we can handle the output of the Dunsley. As for ASHP I would use thermal solar and a woodstove instead.
  10. In that case I think the council can go and whistle Make sure you keep a photo diary of your site I have found this to be invaluable in fighting the planners (I know we should not have to fight but living in the green belt I cannot even wipe my a**e without some busy body complaining) From the diary we had we could prove our polytunnels had been up more than 4 years and their case collapsed.
  11. Woodpicker They have obviously had a complaint from some busy body. Just need to make sure that all your items can be moved and therefore classed as temporary structures. If that is the case then get your Land Agent to write a letter stating the temporary nature of the structures and request from the council what planning law you are in breach of. At the end of the letter you might want to mention that this has already been discussed previously and suggest that continuation along this line could be classed as harassment and will be reported to the local council ombudsmen. I think from what you have said your log store might be the problem by putting a roof on it you have converted it from a temporary structure to a permanent one.
  12. I did like the foreign horses at the APF sorry I cant remember the breed
  13. If I was buying again I would get a Wamsler Austrian range rather than Esse as the build quality is so much better. Just google Esse problems for a detailed explanation of why people are disappointed with the Esse.
  14. All cooking and hot water from esse range cooker. Central heating for old stone farmhouse from Dunsley Yorkshire boiler. Dunsley stove in snug for relaxing
  15. Compared to 3-5k per acre in Lancashire its very cheap. I can just imagine it all meet on site and bring a chainsaw but realistically you would only need 1000 people to chip in £1350 each and they could all have over 1 acre each. Looking from a practical point of view thats only 15 cube of logs.
  16. Merc 814 4x4 or newer model if price is no object. Most are ex council or utilities
  17. I would be one of the biomass boys thats why I am looking at it. It equates to a 500kwe CHP plant on a sustainable basis.
  18. Age 1977 Class 14-16 DBH of 26cm
  19. Working fine now. good job done must be time for a pint
  20. not guilty
  21. With the current epidemic of various diseases affecting lots of different tree species is now the time to stand on the side lines and keep your hands in your pockets or would you if you had the cash splash out on a cheap woodland knowing that even if it has no disease at present there is a real chance it would be infected within the next 10 years. I am asking because over 1000 acres of Sitka Spruce has just come onto the market in the Brecon Beacons at a reasonable price but as disease is spreading from the south would it be wiser to buy in Scotland instead.
  22. Steve Has Arbtalk been rebooted lately. I only ask as I now get a fatal error if I try to get on through the .co.uk site so I have come on through the forum. However all the screens are different with a grey body instead of brown then when you click on a thread it becomes a white background. I dont no whether it is significant but prior to that for the last 2-3 days going on the .co.uk site would reveal an errornotfound file if you then backpage it would then let you into the Arbtalk log in screen as normal. Just reporting now while I still can hope it can be fixed.
  23. Its a forward control MB Trac with 9 tonne trailer but I normally load 4 tonne on MB Trac and 8 tonne on trailer so 12 tonne combined. Really depends how good the roads are as its not a driven trailer but does have hydraulic drawbar steer. The MB Trac also has crab steer. If I new how to post photo's I would but they always seem to big to load up.
  24. No its all down to ownership. You are providing a service to dispose of your customers wood chippings (ie their waste). You could buy the chippings from the customer but you must have a paper trail that will stand up in court. (ie normal contract stuff of offer, acceptance and consideration)
  25. Would it not be easier to purchase the timber from your customer at a nominal amount then you would no longer be disposing of their waste you would actually be carting your own timber which you have paid for by deducting the amount off the bill to the customer. So long as you had proof on your invoice of this arrangement it would be very difficult for EA to prove otherwise in court.
