  1. No just dont sell less than 2m3 at a time then it does not matter whether you know he is or is not a stooge. Simples. Having told my customers the minimum sale amount has gone up from 1.2m3 (1 IBC) to 2.4m3 (2 IBC) as yet I have not lost a customer. Was never in the game of messing about with builders bags as I am to old for lugging logs about.
  2. Total garbage. The officer wants wood you sell him 2 m3 plus the statuatory letter and you have complied with the law end of story. Woodsure can go and whistle.
  3. Paul, Your biggest problem is the EA and their stupid rules etc etc. Personally stealth is your friend and for the cost of a stream engine I would JFDI. Plenty of video's on the internet. PM me if you want more info. https://microhydropower.com/stream-engine/
  4. Good for you. I have had a similar response. Obviously have to provide the statuatory letter but also supply my own letter saying the statuatory letter can be ignored as all my logs are guaranteed at less than 20% moisture content as they have been for over a decade.
  5. Woodsure has cost me nothing as its a scam pure and simple the same as BSL which was only relevant to RHI customers which are so few I could easily manage without.
  6. To be honest I have cut back on sites and time thanks to Navitron as they published how long I had actually spent just on that one site.
  7. Gone but not dead. It all got very nasty but this seems to have risen from the ashes. Camelot-Forum.co.uk Its a shame the history was lost but at least there is still a discussion forum with a lot of familiar faces.
  8. I dropped it a long while ago as I had so few RHI customers anyway. Have now got some of them back due to their RHI scheme ending.
  9. Do your son a favour. Ditch the stove and buy him a more efficient stove. Best thing we ever did was replace ours with a Dunsley Yorkshire. for the same amount of wood used it now provides central heating for the whole house. Make sure you weigh it in as its a big heavy lump.
  10. Spring water here. As soon as we moved in stopped using mains water as supply to farm has over 100 mtrs of lead piping.
  11. Just because some people are not stupid enough to pay into this scheme does not mean they are doing anything unlawful. The rules have been written in such a manner that you can still trade within the rules without having to pay anyone.
  12. Anybody with a Holder A50 gearbox they could part with. Have been trying to get my C500 repaired as it lost 3rd and 4th gear. Getting parts out of Karcher is proving difficult. Might even stretch to a whole tractor for the right money.
  13. Never had a problem helping tree surgeons with a free tree station which complies with all the regs. it has always been well used as the alternative normally includes a gate fee.
  14. This is how woodsure will make their money on retesting fuel as your fuel will not meet the standards originally quoted for your boiler. Most boiler manufacturers could not meet the emissions standards on ordinary fuel. To get around this problem they tested the fuel at very low moisture content and made sure the fuel sample did not include bark. Once the emission test was passed the fuel standard was noted on the certificate and that is the standard RHI is paid out on. In the past it was never a problem as the fuel was never tested to the certificate but now it will be.
  15. No looking more at the point of view as a "Trader" not Supplier as timber is from Tree Surgeons having to monitor and report how much timber is received from each Tree Surgeon. I used to run a tree station but this BSL rubbish killed it. Having cancelled my BSL registration about 9 months later they changed the rules in respect of getting wood from Tree Surgeons by which time I could not really care less as I had so few RHI customers anyway.
  16. Interested to know how you have managed to be BSL authorised if you only process arb waste from local tree surgeons.
  17. Quite agree. I also use kilns but my kilns are solar kilns which do not pollute like wood fired kilns but I get annoyed that I am under cut by 10 pound a m3 because people get paid RHI on these kilns burning wood to dry wood. Thankfully it looks like I may be able to claw this 10 pound back by not signing upto woodsure.
  18. You have no competition if you can sell logs at 180 m3. Around here your lucky to get 100 m3 for kiln dried logs.
  19. Woodsure have been appointed the administrator of the BSL scheme. For all those claiming RHI they have to get their fuel from a BSL registered source and account for the amount of fuel used and where it has been supplied from. Even if you used your own fuel in your own boiler then if you claimed RHI you have to be BSL registered as a self supplier and able to show your self supply is from sustainable resources. What has recently changed on the BSL scheme is a requirement to have your wood certified as meeting the appropriate timber standard which will be carried out at a cost which you will have to pay. If you refuse to have your timber tested or the sample fails then your approved timber product will be removed off the list and you will not be able to use that fuel to claim RHI.
  20. Really. Do you not have any competition. Even if it only cost 1k and you make 10 pounds on every cube you sell thats 100 cube working for nothing before your starting to make money again. Then a customer complains that the dry wood you delivered below 20% MC is actually more than 20% because its been stored in a damp garage but the mafia inspector visits the customer and confirms its over 20% then you have penalties on top. Even before this garbage I had customers trying it on as I was one of the few who guaranteed all my wood was less than 20%. What they did not realise was I kept a sample of each batch sent out so could easily quash their claims.
  21. Think it should be against the law for the BSL Administrator (Woodsure) to be promoting its own in house testing service and then in the next breath saying that non of them have been approved as yet. The testing of wood seems innocent enough until you ask why is it needed. The only obvious purpose is to compare the fuel being used to the actual boiler certification fuel used and if not comparable will be rejected. This is fine until you realise many boiler manufacturers had to superdry their fuel and remove all bark just to comply with the emissions regulations. In the real world normal wood will fail these tests. I think pellets will be alright because the wood has to be dried to enable manufacture.
  22. Thought the BSL was only critical for supply to customers claiming RHI. Any other user can buy biomass from any tom dick or harry.
  23. With the new rules and added costs you may find it cheaper to end the scheme early.
