  1. I just like the way you put the first four pictures together.
  2. Come across a few chippers in my time, Gandini was awful, broke and bloked constantly Greenmech were average, nothing more Vermeer 1000, feedroller spring wasn't strong enough and struggled to break limbs down Vermeer 1400 had vertical feedrollers which would contantly get jammed by bits being pulled around the side Jenson 9" i hired had dull feed rollers and as a result i struggled like hell to get the machine to take anything! Tw's had a habit of dropping to pieces, although they did get worked the hardest. Sheisling(?) Used one for only a short time but was quite impressed.
  3. Those gob cuts are a waste of time and energy for crane use. Unfortunatly i always found that crane work was a bit of a dark science and it depended greatly on who taught you how to use one, same applies to the crane driver. I do know a couple of people who use a saw hook, it'd make sense when using a big saw instead of having to pull up a saw hanging on a strop. That said, the climber looks quite happy, probably too happy (camera whore), at picking off those size pieces.
  4. [quote Boots off before entering. Are you the local version of the milkman?! Around where i used to work there were two companies in particular which used to do very good business. Within the the local scene both firms had a pretty ropey skills reputation with other reputable companies. They both had very similar traits though, smart, sign written vans. All their guys wear the same sign written clobber. The bosses could sell sand to the arabs and bizarrely enough they both charged the big bucks. Not sure why their recipe worked so well and for so long, i prefer the old school scruffy, battered look but with mad skills! I always felt it was a more honest way of working for people who appreciated good work over apperance.
  5. Bonus points for being creative, but is trying to save a few quid a good idea when it comes to your life? Sorry, probably sounds like i'm just splitting hairs!
  6. .....yes, i've heard rumors about that hampstead heath place. A lot of "badger watching" going on apparently....
  7. I do belive i've told you before mani about smokin' that much crack, it does funny things to your mind man! Everyone should watch that vid again and they'll realise that that guy is a reincarnation of samson (i.e the strongest man ever!!!) there's no other way to explain why a man would have hair like that.
  8. ........hook, line and sinker!
  9. I once saw an old boy doing his privet hedge with a spirit level.
  10. Cheers for the heads up, i'll try to not reverse onto that.
  11. When the only part of a sun tan you get is burnt arms, neck and face and the rest of your body is a ghostly pale white
  12. ...yeah, i've worked with that old q, he's all right but i wouldn't say he's all that.....
  13. Big dog

    Ripoffs...

    ....did someone mention sluts?.....
  14. when you smile and wave to another arb crew on your patch as you drive past while under your breath you mutter "pikeys".
  15. When the customer thinks you have a medical condition because you've turned the air blue while having a "moment".
  16. You been smoking crack boy?
  17. No, when they were on my patch i thought "pikey"!
  18. Its like i've always known and said, bandit 280 with a john deere power lump, unbeatable!
  19. Is that a during or after shot the second picture?
  20. When two of you turn up on site and the house owner says " i thought you were tree men" Like you've never heard it before. When you hear a chipper in the distance and you think "pikey".
  21. Believe me when i say that we are yet to see some proper pikey pictures of "topping". Pollarding has been continual management practice in this country and europe since around the year dot. How do you think we managed to sustain the greatest naval fleet and empire the new world has ever seen! Arboriculture, not far off the oldest proffesion in the world!
  22. MMMM, nice ladder action. And good use of tag team action to see off any car owners! Good job!
  23. Nice pics, although you seem to be confused. If you were just to face a little more forward and save up for another ski you'd be doing it right!
  24. ...or when you get on a set of spikes on a pine and you don't slip and shred the inside of your forearms.
