  1. See Mark, this is why you never made it as a literary critic in the Sunday press..
  2. Clutching at straws, would using Aspen cause a saw to run hotter?
  3. It's because he's a part-time climber since his Worky Quad purchase...
  4. Aside from this exhaust cover melting, the spark plug covers of both vanished never to be seen again.
  5. Have you any other mode other than sarcastic? I pray you eventually grow out of just being a mocking twunt. Are you like this around children too?
  6. Yes, that's occured.
  7. I grip it between my clenched snaggly teeth but also hang it on a skyhook. I don't trail it around on a leash.
  8. I do but they are €10 each here. Insignificant but annoying.
  9. One is Spudded but they both do this.
  10. I run two Echo 2511 and the exhaust covers are prone to melting then breaking apart. Are there any aftermarket alternatives or solutions apart from going battery...? Stuart
  11. Which is a mystery as to why Ford didn't sell an E85 Bronco...
  12. Yes, no pollution tax applies.
  13. Well, we don't pay road tax here. It certainly shows as there are very few SUV and pickups on the road. How much is the road tax for a 3litre 4x4 ? The pollution tax has killed the 4x4 market, it means that in comparison to the UK, outside of mountain areas, newer family 4x4 vehicles are quite uncommon.
  14. Yup. A Ford Ranger 3litre can be pushing €80k The Ford Bronco was €75k + €50k pollution tax. I've never seen one outside of the showroom actually on the road.
  15. New, €29k plus one off pollution tax of €22k The Ford Ranger is now available as a hybrid and is pollution tax free as a result.
  16. Have you been tested for Epstein-Barr virus? That wiped me out last Summer for 4 months.
  17. Would anyone like a nice cup of tea ..?
  18. I was informed by GM that the reason for the deeper in feed length was prevent Frenchmen from becoming a burden to the state...
  19. This might have saved a fall in the event of a fluffed clip in or carabiner failure. STRAPLINK | Etrangleuse de longe - FTC WWW.ELAGAGE-HEVEA.COM Le STRAPLINK est un accessoire de longe astucieuse et indispensable. Elle permet l'étranglement de la longe...
  20. Back again. I had done 2hrs30min since 'repairing' the engine. The last stump was on a slope and the machine cut out 3 times so I checked the oil 'Oy Vey, Allah Akbar, Mon Dieu and FFS !' to cover all bases... Oil level low. It took 500ml Ran it up again to finish the last stump but it lacked power and the stump being very fibrous made for a dismal hour or so. Back home, checked the valve clearances and was surprised to find them well out yet the nuts are tight. I've reset the valves, it runs fine but now light but obvious dark smoke when throttle opened. Oil vapour from valve cover is inside the part between carb and air filter. So I think I will change the engine and strip the old one down this Winter and earn my Boy Scouts tinkering badge. Meanwhile, I'd like to replace the engine with an electric start version. I see an option with oil bath filter. Is this worthwhile or even practical on a grinder? Please post your answers either here, or on a postcard to: Multi-Coloured Swap Shop, BBC TV Centre, London W12 8QT
  21. I just popped in to see if PeteB was mentioned but then I remembered he's only changing jobs not being embalmed so that's all right then, panic over. Stuart
  22. Neighbour has given up growing since his bust though earlier this year in a mad revenge attack he cut down to the ground all my fruit trees and ragged out the blueberries. He's an addict with nothing to lose so although I informed the Gendarmes I asked for no further action. We are selling the place and don't need to have an open conflict on the books.
  23. I've not devoted much time this year to the veg plot. Potatoes have done well enough but could have done with a little watering. Last night, the first sweetcorn, raised at home in fibre pots and planted in full sun with a few squash in between. The taste was...sweet ! Very sweet indeed. The pumpkins, about 40 fruits, are for Halloween, my kids and the local after school club. Onions suffered a lack of water and Red Lily Beetle. Leeks suffered from inattention during my month in Morocco, drowned by woody nightshade which is the most problematic weed I have. I'm on a fertile sandy soil that could always do with more humus.
