  1. The Ifor dealer here is a bit of a **** to deal with. Proper got the 'ump when we showed him a U.K quote for an Ifor tipper. Wouldn't negociate a centime. Told us the price we had was what he paid himself! Before bringing ANY vehicle into a foreign country it does well to look up before hand the procedures for importation and registration. Many models of vehicles cannot be registered in another country or must under go expensive work to alter the dash or add lights. Some such as Japanese grey imports into the U.K cannot then be imported into France. Our Iveco tipper conformed (500euros for a CofC) but the tipping unit did not so we forged one instead with the aid of a draughtsman (£200) Our Atlas tipper trailer (pinched last year) All the relevent parts carried an E.U CofC but as a whole trailer did not conform even though it was an almost exact copy of an Ifor! It's all a bit Thomas Tank if you ask me...BLEH! Ty
  2. Hi, Mown down... I'm fuming for you! Aside from being unable to hunt down the driver and act out a fantastic revenge involving anthills and maple syrup, I can tell you that all new Ifors are E.U certified and come with their C.O.C as standard. Ty
  3. What about using FB to send messages to relatives you wish where dead...? Ty:001_rolleyes:
  4. I know, I owned one once for 3 years. Ty
  5. When I came back from N.Z in 2009 it is the very same set up I ran although my Lider trailer was a longer version. I then added a Bandit HB20 and that gave 3 of us almost full time work until 2012 when we bought an Iveco 3.5t tipper and a Quadchip. Lucky Eleven is going places! Ty
  6. Hey! I helped him pay for all that! Ty (Proud of you Son....sniff)
  7. The local saw mills always scan the wood with a metal detector. M.Launay has a drawer full of shrapnel which he delights in showing. Sometimes from unlikely sources like a stray bomb in an area that saw little or no action. Sometimes from a woodland that saw shelling but was forgotten. Often, slugs from boar hunters. Ty
  8. I wonder what Britain First's policy is towards foreign objects in trees...? Ty:001_rolleyes:
  9. On another thread, this is for wee chippers! Ty
  10. Does that slipper technique work anyway? Ty
  11. OH MY GOD! Openly admiting to disabling a safety device on a chipper! Next you'll be telling us how to clear it by kicking lumps through whilst wearing your Dad's slippers! Ty
  12. Didn't some-one make a pair of plywood wheels for his Bandit HB20 in order to pass really tight gates? Ty
  13. AHAHAHAHAHA! You ARE a fool, no, UTTER LEMON as I am only a phone call away! Ty:lol:
  14. I'm moving over to this brand: Elagueuse thermique FPCSP25 25cm 900w - CASTORAMA At todays exchange rate this rather jolly 'topper' works out at a mere £59 so considering the repair bills we get for both Husky and Stihl top handles, it would be cheaper to buy one of these every month! Ty:thumbup:
  15. In 2010 we posted around 2000 flyers and won 4 very small jobs, less than 2k worth. Parking a signwritten vehicle on the roadside proved more successfull. Sponsoring local sports teams calendars and publicity etc is cheap and worthwhile. More word of mouth from those involved. Free maps of the town a dead loss (expensive) A web presence totally invaluable. Yellow pages too. Having a tidy t'shirt with company name on. Cards in a couple of dozen newsagents works and is cheap but remember to go back and renew. Best of luck! Ty
  16. Give the man a 'Like' Ty
  17. Drizabone around Rennes. Felled a conifer, ground the stump out in a cloud of yellow clay dust. Breezy though, too windy for flying Xmas drones but not for rescuing them... Ty
  18. You know, the figure that really interests me when this type of discussion comes up is not the monetary value of the job but the time taken in man hours. From this each individual should be able to work backwards assuming he knows his own costs to obtain a minimum price for the work. After which he may add a margin for profit depending on the likelihood of him getting the work. Ty
  19. The excuse I normally use is "If I didn't participate in the extinction of rare species some-body else would"... Ty (Oh, I did the Condor job last month)
  20. Onset of dementia or just pre-Noel imbibing.. ? Ty
  21. No, for the diamond grinding disc. Ty
  22. Why? Abtec are less than half the price... 115mm (4 1/2") diameter Diamond coated wheel (Vanity Blade) £14.69 x 5 £73.45 From my last order but that was back in 2014 mind... Ty
  23. I use this supplier. Abtec4Abrasives Search Lemonplant want £56... Ty
  24. Tom Trees who used to post on here lives 30km South of me and has started this business in knives etc. Disque au diamant - arbocouteaux Very optimistic pricing I think... Ty
  25. I'm already there... Ty
