  1. hi there, still working on the problem i have just resoldered the new proximity switch to the old plug, iam sure i have done the wires the right way around as i did them one at a time but would like to know if i have it correct?? on the plug the terminals are marked 1, 2, 3. and have a black, brown and blue wire. then inside the box is a black red and yellow/green wire. hopfully someone understands this and can help. cheers carl
  2. tried a different 12v trailer socket today and still know different just the sam red light flashing and no infeed from the rollers??? any other ideas or ways to test componets. thanks carl.
  3. if you end up using a mini digger , you can put the bucket on the wrong way round this way you can get under the root ball and keep a fair bit of soil with it. good luck with it.
  4. hi guys thanks for all the input, i will definatly try an alternitve 12v power feed( prob be monday now.) as for the plug i soldered on i have had a good look at it and looks ok, is the a way to check the resistance using the ohm setting on a multi meter? i did this once with a similar motion sensor thing on an old bmw e30, just stuck the probes on the sensor plug and compared the reading to a range that was correct, is this possible with this sort of sensor?? if so does anyone know the ohm range that its ment to be? i could be barking up the wrong tree with that tho. thanks again carl
  5. thats was nasty hope makes good recovery. i take it was the same climber in both vids? often think ones more likley to have an accident doing simple stuff. did the piece go the wrong way or was it just his rope getting caught? once again wishing him the best. carl
  6. our no stress sytem( is not working!! were getting stressed) is a box with a circuit board in which cant be fixed or taken apart as its completly covered with a resin so i dont think they can be reprogramed, dont know much about them so i guess they are a bit different. thanks carl
  7. thanks for your suggestions i dont think its a fly wheel speed problem as we have over reved it a bit to no avail and also the dealer suggested lowering the cut in point in the box this also didnt work. so far the lights being on on the box i have taken to mean there is power there so mabey i am wrong to assume this ? does the antistress box just take a positive and negative feed from the trailer light socket?? i guess i can check it there?? would a bad connection from the 12v feed cause the proximity switch to go?? iam fairly sure it was faulty but replacing it hasnt cured the problem. thanks again for your help, its not my chipper( thank god as the box was pricey!) iam just trying to help my boss get it working. carl
  8. update, have a new box and a new proximity sensor that i soldered onto the old shape plug. the proximity sensor lights up on the back as the flywheel spins but i am still only getting the red flashing light and no in feed. running out of ideas as are is green mech rep. so any other suggestions????? thanks carl.
  9. good work james looked like an awkward tree with some hard balances with the crane, never done any trees on this scale so respect to those who do:thumbup1: you say your scared of heights ? do you have a height that your fine with? i must admit i find 70ft + a bit nerve wracking. carl
  10. one way of advancing the rope i seem to be using a lot is to grab the rope inbetween the wrench and the lockjack and pull up using the wrench as one would the pulley in a vt set up and with a bit of rope wieght beneeth i find the lock jack selftends the slack, iam using tachyon rope. this works great for me but to be honest i havnt tried the wrench with a hitch so maybe its loads better. might try and put up some photos of my set up iam intrested to see if i can improve my frog walking set up. cheers carl
  11. just curious why dont you get on with it?? i find mine works great with the rope wrench. carl
  12. we have been using the same set up with a bungy cord and works great, brilliant when you have you top tie in and theres lots of branchs just scramble up whilst the wrench is moving with you and its all self tending. carl
  13. id say you should settle into it after a bit as getting used to the controls is a big part. good luck ,should get easier with each lesson carl
  14. i think trust is an issue here as your new on the team, you need to be able to trust your foremans judgment which is not easy if you dont know them. how are they making their desicions ?? based on years of experiance, safety or quickly getting the job done.... hopfully a sensible blend of all three! bottlin it never feels good but neither does having an accident! just my two cents worth. gd luck carl.
  15. i found the lock jack a bit all all nothing also but when paired up with the rope wrench it seems to so much smother and more controlable, would definatly try and have a go with the rope wrench its a brilliant bit of kit, i think there may be a small thread on here about it!! carl.
  16. glad to hear iam not the only one who struggles with this ,seems everything exept the sprocket gets greased!!
  17. hi johno iam sure they could post if you phoned, failing that honey bros have posted/ couriered loads of stuff to me in ireland with no probs( not sure wether they have that sharpening yoke tho. carl
  18. thanks guys for the replys i think it must be a sensor or circiut problem had a good look at the set up but could not see anything amiss. the boss is gona ring the greenmech dealer and see what they can do. thanks carl.
  19. hi we have a problem with our 9" pto machine, basicly the feed rollers wont engage it is as if the antistress has kicked in. the little antistress light just flashes red. any ideas ??? i have cleaned the flywheel sensor but no difference.?? thanks carl
  20. i have the same machine, a few makes sell them ( rally, husqv. etc) iam guessing that getting a second hand machine that is cheap but has a good deck could be your best bet, sorry not much help really! deck is very easy to fit carl
  21. thanks i will check out the breather, the crank seals were done seems a shame to just have it sat in the shed, ive tried a few repair shops but it still comes back the same so cant be bothered wasting more money on it. thanks carl.
  22. iam also thinking of getting a blower but cant get exited as surley the most boring tool to have to shell out for? would echo the comments on the vac,s we had a sthil one and was just slow and pretty usless really. carl
  23. thanks for the photos garden kit, i have just taken it all apart didnt see anything obvious but put back together and started it and stoped it a few times with no flooding so fingers crossed although intermitent problems are the worst. so once again big thanks to the folk of arbtalk. cheers carl
  24. thanks guys will try that although the carb is awkward to get off, lots of gaskets, some of which i have just replaced so i suspect the problem may be of my own making wouldnt be the first time either! thanks again. carl
