  2. I've had hi flex for a while, but they tend to rip easy. I have strech airs now, and think I made the right choice. Fabric is a lot stronger and more resistant. But like Andy said, its personal choice really.

  4. At a guess i would say to much bounce in them.
  5. the big downfall is the clearance, and if your attempting to follow havester / forwarder tracks, ruts will be a big issue for it. You can get lift kits for them, but its only 60mm max, and i think you can get body spacers but it all adds up. And you cant get very big tyres on them. I have 205's on mine. Im going for a shogun and getting shot of my shelander.
  6. Off road they will do at least 80% of what a defender will do. They have a lower ground clearance and reduced ramp over and entry and exit angles compared to a defender. Watch out for oil leaks it is a land rover. No chance will a freelander follow a defender mate. Apart from on a road.
  7. Dont do it mate, you'll regret it. Ive had numerous problems with mine. Mostly the 4wd system it uses which is completly s***. The vcu is prone to break which is alot of cash to repair. Mine went on mine and i didnt realise it, until it ripped the ird off. And ground clearance is crap too. Anyone want to buy a freelander? lol
  8. Only advice i can give you is when your out on a limb, strop on and use the strop to come back on as far as you can, and keep your main line tenisioned, and keep your weight low. Try organising a climbing get together and watch and learn how other do it.
  9. Dont agree with that really, 39 only allows you to use a saw in a tree, what about 40 which is pruning 41 which is dismantling. Without those you cant prune, nor should you be dismantling a tree. I wouldnt call myself a tree surgeon and ive been doing this for many years, and im sure others i know would say the same who have alot more experience than myself.
  10. Yes ive heard that before, having 2 seperate anchor points has its advantages, but i find it a pain in the arse, imo. It will help you with your branch walking using two separte anchors though if your struggling. Just keep practising,it will make you a better climber. I try to climb as much as i can even when im not working.
  11. What do you mean when you say 'using two prussik or one'?
  12. Get a little pulley, so you can use it as fairlead. Try a blakes too.
  13. I think you get what you pay for, if your spending alot of time in chainsaw boots its worth paying for a descent, comfortable pair, imo.
  14. Count me in, couldnt make it last year.
  15. Chain reaction are good for bike bits. Dont do as much downhilling anymore, found i dont bounce as well. I'll kinda snap now i rekon. Get some race face cranks and bb. Had mine for years and abused them, never let me down.

  17. Maybe a spline on a half shaft has broke. Definitly sounds like the prop though, only reason i say this is the prop on my landy i shot, still drives ok, just a bit noisey a soon as i get over 40. May be the bearing is on its way out. Do you get any judder or slap when changing gear, if you do, that will be worn splines on the prop / drive train.
  18. Could be sludge Dean, but if the bearing has disintergrated it could off balance the prop and thats where your getting the vibration from.?!
  19. your propshaft may not be buggered, could just be the propshaft bearings which alot cheaper than the entire propshaft being screwed. Ive never known it to effect the steering or feel vibration through the steering though. The more i think on it, the more i less suspect it to be the propshaft.
