The MS200 has the same displacement and power but is lighter and has conventional chain tensioning. Might be worth a look, I may have one for sale soon:001_smile:

Crossing my legs reading that, although thinking about it you could have put the biner back in with the rest of your equipment and waited a while. Still I suppose panic had set in... ooh I don't know wether to laugh or cry.

Spot on Dean, I sometimes use my brothers 16ft twin axle Ifor, It does the same thing although its not too bad in the landy, its worse in leaf sprung pickups like his, partly because leaves aren't as good as coils and pickups tend to be lighter at the back when empty.

I got a whack from a twig in the eye once, it was so painful even the next day that I thought there was something in it so i went to the eye doc. The doc took one look and said "you were lucky, I'd better get the consultant to look at it" the consultant had a look and said "you were lucky". Apparently I had a deep gouge in the surface of my eye, Its still there as they dont actually heal. The lucky part was its just out of my field of vision, and its only visible to eye specialists.

Sorry to hear that, I've had two greenmechs so maybe he had a hand in one of them, I sometimes think about the people who make the things we use every day. As for the H&S nothing surprises me in this country anymore. RIP.

Not really, he's about 6' curly brown hair. He finished his National Diplome there last year.

Andrew who works for me is at Kirkley hall one day a week doing his foundation degree, I'll ask him next week if he's heard anything about the guy.

I have to say Muppet, however a streight line down the face is apparently a common injury, I know of at least one guy who has done this. While taking about kickback, if you hold your saw level (in a cross cut position) at the height of its guidebar and over a wooden block, then let go of the front handle and allow the nose of the bar to drop onto the block, this impact should activate the chain brake as it simulates a kickback. If it doesn't get the brake checked.

Neither the Highland Show or Scotsturf have any climbing gear to my knowledge, I think we could do with a Scottish trade fair TBH, In fact Jonsie why don't you get a stand at the Highland show or the game fair at scone? If everyone knew you were going I reckon you'd do ok. If anyone does want me to get a dealer to come to the get together I am sure I could, I know they have visited colledges to let the students try the gear.

No that was the top half of it, the building site it was on was a filthy mess and so I asked if they could bring the trees to roadside for us We had already felled a big hymalayan birch and they had shifted that for us, It took about 6 trips to shift the birch and the forklift had to keep going to do other jobs so to speed things up when we did the Thuja I tip roped it and then snedded the bottom bit before cutting it off at the base. Then the forklift driver got the fear and we had to attempt to lay it down and cut it in half, a major PITA. Still at least we weren't working in a foot of mud. Plus they were pumping the kludgie which smelled like satans jockstrap so the further away from that the better.

I don't know any one who has one but Maybe someone will post if they do. We could arrange for the local dealer to come down for a few hours and bring some samples, I bet they'd be up for it. But we may end up turning the get together into a trade fair.

A couple from yesterday and today. Moving a bit of Thuja with a forklift and the veiw of the shore from a horse chestnut that I was pruning today.

Never burnt any but I suppose being deciduous will give it a more dense timber so its probably ok.

try John Thorburn and sons at Duns, they make em to order so you could have whatever you like. I know they can get stuff galvanised so worth a try. .http://www.jthorburn.co.uk/ Tell em Tom Dixon recommended them, that way I might get a discount next time I'm in.
