  1. My mate had the Meindl boots and he reckoned they were a little slim on the fitting. I've got the Zermatt GTX (red goretex ones) and personally I think they're the best boots I've ever had. (jonsie sells them)
  2. Have you signed up to Yell.com before???? I did years ago, and I tracked enquiries from it. It turned out that I had about 5 calls all year from it!!! From what I understand they've invested money into it and it's better, my rep told me that 50% of searrches are now done on Yell. I think personally that's bull!!!!!! For the last 2 years I've stood well clear of yell.com and 118247, but then again my happiest day will be when I don't need to give Yell a single dime of my hard earned!!! I don't like the way they do business at all! Having said that, my rep this year did offer me what seems like a good deal, I got offered Heavyweight in 2 areas for £211 extra. (they do do a good job of bamboosling me tho!! So I could have it wrong). Also this is maybe because I have adverts in the books aswell, maybe the rates are better then.........I dunno Hope that helps and sorry for the minor rant.
  3. I like this shiny li'l ting HUB108 - 108mm Rigging Hub - DMM Professional Back in Blighty yet Ross??
  4. Thought you'd like an update After sending a quote in pointing out the very possible outcomes and providing him with the phone number of a structural enginneer he calls me today to give me the go ahead. He hasn't called the number I supplied, I advised him strongly to do so. And so we'll be rocking up with a disclaimer of sorts and fell the tree. Anyone got any such disclaimers they keep on file that they could ping over to me??? It would be appreciated. TA
  5. Cheers Hooch Keep 'em comin' lads and lassies
  6. Cheers Shane Good points, Kent is pretty large but I'm with you all the way on the boredem factor!!!
  7. Hello peeps Got a email today to quote for this planting job, I could really do with a hand on pricing this one up, the quantities are there, so how long do you reckon a 2 or 3 man gang could knock this one out in?? Thanks for the help, bit stumped on it. Ta very much
  8. I heard he's a good bloke too. It was a pleasure to help another "arb" out, and the dosh was appreciated aswell!!! Cheers mate, speak soon
  9. I got a call from someone today in Ilford, Essex, she needs a tree report carried out on a TPO'd tree that is 5metres from a proposed building, the report is for the council, and is PRIOR to the building being started. Anyone interested??? PM me and I'll pass on her details

  13. I think as a starter " intricate" may be a bit unattainable for me!! I dunno, just fancied messing about a bit at the yard at the end of the day. And yes we are based in Sunny Whitstable, you're in Fav aren't you??

  16. I fancy doing a bit of chainsaw carving...........what are the best books out there peeps??
  17. Big tree that, for 39 years old!!!
  18. I remember using infra red back in the days of 35mm. Whack a red filter on the front and you get the most amazing shots of tree, the leaves come out almost white. I've still got a few 16x12's hidden away somewhere!! I'm still learning the ropes with the digital age, I've got a d200 (first digital slr) and I love it........built like a rock. Enjoying these threads, keep it up peeps
  19. I would say that before a previous reduction it must have been 60ft, but yes, the tree in Oak terms is young. It still remains to be said that it's a tree of size in close proximity to a building. I've always read these threads with interest and there's always a real debate and conflicting opinions, personally I think that it should be OK but its always good to get other thoughts on a subject. Maybe a disclaimer is a good idea aswell.
  20. Good point about the house sale further down the line.
