We're with the AA and they've been good each time we've needed them. Last couple of times have more than paid for the membership each time as one recovery took three different vehicles and the last one got me a brand spanking new battery for free.

I think it got taken down recently, well the full episodes anyway. The guy's been suspended form youtube for copyright breach, which is a bit pants as he had loads of good vids I reckon the crushed saw was a set up for the cameras.

I looked into similar when I had mine and was told by our local dealer that it was a fairly big task as many bits on the PTO one arent the same as the petrol one, including the different gearing. That was based on using H.P parts though to do a complete conversion to the same spec as one of the petrol ones. I'd have guessed it shouldn't be too hard to either fit a suitable gearbox or even put a pulley onto the end of the existing gearbox and change the gearing with the right combination of pulley sizes. Nowt a bit of fettlign couldn't sort I reckon

Ah, thought you meant the three pronged bit on the plastic part of the chainbrake handle where it sits into the metal three pronged bit of the chain brake mechanism - mine chewed the plastic up and won't knock the chain brake off.

I know what you mean - I reckon there's a market out there but it's just a case of thinking outside the box a little. We've got a huge amount of small diameter birch (sub 3") but 20-30' long that I'd hope would be ideal for it.

We're in a similar position - Got tiny bit of info emailed through by importer plus prices but other than that it's youtube videos. I want to get hold of a few bags of product from one and go see if it will sell first.

My 353 did that last week too, I'd never encountered it happening to a saw before then. You might find the little ali bit which sits behind the chainbrake handle and holds the small spring may have worn away too - apparently that part is to stop the crank case itself wearing and it's only a couple of quid for the part.

Alder is really not bad at all, just needs to be dry - if it's not it's really really bad to try and burn. One year I had nearly nothing but Alder and was a bit worried but needn't have been. -
Sounds like you did pretty well getting to the A1 that quick They really do need to sort themselves out.

It'll feel a bit funny, whilst it should cut like a husky, the ergonomics are jsut a little different - things like the front handle being square to the body of the saw rather than angled like a husky and the back handle bieng a slightly different profile. I quite liked mine when I had it and would have another. Some do Keep up Charlie

I do agree, but the actual difference in volume between the two if compared over the course of a day, for instance, would vary depending on species quite a bit too wouldn't it? yes, spruce burns like billyo but I've found things like Corsican and Scots to burn quite steadily. Likewise, some hardwoods burn really quite fast too. I blame the misinformation that can be found on the internet and also those blooming firewood poems for the lack of uptake on Softwood. -
looks very much like my old 2163, though maybe, just a tad smaller. the Two spring clutch makes me think it's not bigger than a 63, but it could be a 2159 maybe. Does it not have an ID plate just under the front handle above and to the left of the clutch?

They reckon it should make a bit more power, it's 1mm bigger bore but we shall see. Once it's sorted will put it against mates slightly older 357 and see how they comapre (hope it's at least as good) - probably spend most of its time with 13", 3/8 full chisel with very low rakers in softwood -

Got a reply back through ebay apologising for the delay as they've been closed for holidays and they'll get it sorted Monday when they're back in the shop Hopefully I'll have it built up next week sometime -
I can only imagine how they feel, btu can't help thinking that sort of amount of money will only end up bringing a lot of unwanted attention. Would be pretty cool though

Do you know what made me think top handle? Bearing in mind I know very little about Stihls at all - the angle of the spark plug hole Figured that it was hardly likely to be a husky TH as everyone says they are pants. Powers of deduction

Quick update: still no word back from ARB via email so looks like might be just as easy to bang the new one on damaged as it's holding everything up now. pics should show the damage - do you guys think it'll be OK? I reckon it should be

What you tend to get at most land rover shows recently is a load of scrap over priced in the auto jumble, and stuff on the stands for no cheaper than online depends what you're after though. Only reason I usually bother is to catch up with mates I've not seen for a while
