  1. Im looking to cut some logs that have been split and dried. Im in a residential area so I need to keep the noise down, has anyone tried a woodster SW41? Or should I go for an electric chainsaw on a log horse. I have around 4 cube to sort. Should I just buy one and report back for all the arbtalkers? The logs are around 19 inches long and I want to get them down to around 6"ish Any other ideas? Moosie On my Samsung Note - It's big, but it's good
  2. Your looking at 2 very different machines there. For super tight access and 1 man operation go for the magnum, apparently they blunt very easily, but you would get jobs that no one else would be able to do. if you always have 2 guys then the Rayco/Vermeer/canon option is good, or even a dosko. Bigger wheels, easier to use, or even go for a hydrostatically controlled 27 HP machine that you would be really pleased with 2ND hand around 4 grand Moosie On my Samsung Note - It's big, but it's good
  3. Hi Steve,

Silky Fox used to work for me and I believe he is "flaming" me in post #72 of 'In Desparate times...My Silky saves the day!'. Could you re write his post... and see you at the APF.

    Cheers

  12. If you know this shop, does you know why it's been closed for the last week?
  13. 1st and very expensive port of call, yet efficient... but then you have no choice with quite a few parts, I know this is true with the Vermeer parts.
  14. Calfs liver for starters, I think Moosie On my Samsung Note - It's big, but it's good

  18. I think you now need a QCF level 4 In 2010 this qualification was rewritten to be the first theoretical arboricultural qualification to go on to the new Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF)
  19. It's got a lot of stretch, or do you have to have that built in these days, It's really bad for prussic-ing, it's really flexible, hence it snags on absolutely anything, which is really annoying!
  20. I came in as Bangladeshi, but then I forgot to put the decimal point in the height column! And now I'm south Korean.... How cool is that!.... mmmmm?

  23. APF 2012, the UK?s largest forestry and arboricultural exhibition is returning to the same location as its hugely successful 2010 event. Just brought them for £26 a head for 2 days
  24. Yeah, I know, but it won't "light up" (technical term for I can't proceed) Rang up Trish and she said price for 2 days will be £28, yet the site says £26, What's occurring there! Any one else brought the tickets at the discounted price?
  25. I got that far, but there is no button to go forward from there:thumb down: I will just ring them!
