  2. Ok Update on the Big ol Cauliflower. Not sure of the root plate going to find out today hopefully. Unfortunately her mycological masterpiece was riddled with maggots, woodlice dirt and so many pine needles eating it proved to bit a bit of a non starter. I did offer though and i'll eat most stuff. Probably a good challenge for washed up celebrities in a certain aussie jungle. I can tell you that they are delicious though, we've had them in the past. I think you can cut off pieces and shallow fry them in a tempura batter. w/chilli sauce Delicious. I think she's got the grid reference for this one so we'll get it a bit earlier next time . ha ha
  3. Same here sold out today of dry wood. Just got enough to last for myself for winter. All our customers were buying in bulk this year so we'll stack up a bit more for next year. Although i do say that every winter Hmmm

  9. Hey MB whats the little amp in your picture. Do you play the blues?
  10. I only had limited time at the show on fri and tried to fit it all in and found it quite a chore this really meaning that there was a great deal on display. Entry fee was quite steep and food was absolute s*%* but you do come to expect that.Good to catch up and put a face to the name of a few arbtalkers and good to get a few bargains as well. The layout was also good in that all the arb related stuff was kept together then all the big stuff was on the walk circuit. One thing that was a miss was the lack of enthusiam for the lumberjacks, think i heard a few people clap for guys that had come from bloody miles away. they do seem to draw people to events but if no one shows any appreciation then they probaly wont bother showing up. gonna do some work bye
  11. Sounds like good thinking. I would be interested can you keep us posted.

  16. Hey Whats up Mani The transit is great but in hind sight i would have made it a lot smaller. The chip box does what it was designed to do and that is catch chip without it blowing all over the cab, pedestrians, clients, staff, road etc You are right in that the inspiration came from the american trucks but the problem with building the chipbox in that way is that it is so easily overloaded. The chip used to fill the section over the tool box but now it is sectioned off and used for a storage area for rakes. The idea with the low tool boxes is good for storing fuel, oil, chemicals etc because obviousley it keeps it away from your ropes and kit. The american trucks like the asplundh rig are so much bigger in the flesh they look like they are 12 tonners and im not sure what the carying capacity is. As a rig for tree work i have absoultley no complaints as to the way our transit works but just bear in mind if you are looking to build one watch your weight. The box and tool boxes were fabricated by a company near cambridge called BL Searles. I cant think of there website at the moment but i,ll dig it up. Incidentley the Chipbox is ply lined with a hard shell on the outside called vetrolite i belive it is amazingly tough and still looks great after four years. got to go if you got any more questions pm or i'll look on here later. Work safe chris
  17. This tree is what we deal with 90% of the time. Big tree Small garden (yard). Who did the spec for the work was it glen? Clients have got years and years of lopping and topping to get out of their system before we can educate the neanderthals to think like your average Suburban dwelling US citizen. Who will most likely have a garden (yard) the size of a small British village. Jeez Y'all need to wind your necks in. I'm off to kick ass on some eucs that need a 50% reduction. Just Kidding Lighten up Arbtalkers

  20. Whats it called when it wont stop feckin raining
  21. Did two years of rope access cleaning work. Window cleaning is great for about two drops then it is a bit mind numbing. Did some blast cleaning and maintenance work rigging banners and stuff that was better. options are;. 1. Tree climbing = Fresh air, different work site, varied work, questionable money 2. Rig Work = North sea. same rig, Probaly same work(painting) long stints at sea, great money. I know its not all that but you gotta think hard before laying out the money for an IRATA course.
