  1. I have heard people say if you do not wash your chainsaw trousers that often, that the constant splash of chain oil from the bar can penetrate through the fabric and cause testicular cancer! I assumed the guy was talking rubbish, but maybe it was more of a risk years ago before the more modern, bio-friendly lubricants were commonly available!
  2. Lighning protection! Its a whilse since i installed that into a tree! Last one i did was an American Elm in USA! It was a nice relaxing job, as i remember!
  3. Hi, I received an email from arbtalk saying u tried to send me a message, but i did not recieve it because my message box was full! I have now emptied my inbox! If u were contacting me about the Navara toolbox, please ring or text me 07521 070666, many thanks, Eddie

  4. Looked like a job i would have enjoyed! Great pics!
  5. would rather lose a job than work for nothing. Never a truer word spoken!
  6. I personally think the food was of a really good quality, the guys and girls at sausage fest worked flat out all day long, and their sausages, with about 8 different types were delicious! Queues were annoying, but I think knocking out that volume of quality food constantly, and doing it with a smile even at the end of the day deserves respect! I know Andy Collins agrees, as he praised the girls at the end of play on Friday! Think he might have just been after a free sausage tho!! ;-) I'd rather pay a lot of money for a quality sausage then pay half the price for your average burger van stuff! Just my opinions, but most I talked to over the two days agreed!
  7. I got the 23m Teupen from Cherry Pickers | Spider Lifts | Access Platforms | Cardiff | Bristol | Swansea | Newport | Birmingham | London £325 per day plus delivery!
  8. Beechwood are a really good company to work for, been subbying to Simon quite a lot over last few months! A brilliant opportunity for someone!
  9. You never seen me run so fast have ya mate? :-) Ha, ha!
  10. It was indeed Aberglasney!
  11. It might have been the 15m one I was talking about actually, but it had lots of plastic covers and was not self levelling!
  12. I have a 57 plate, I generally get about 26mpg out of mine, drive at 55mph and I can get 38mpg, towing it's down to 17-19mpg! £101 to fill the tank the other day, I got 380 miles out that tank! It's a very thirsty truck, or it seems it when I fill it almost once a week!
  13. Glad to hear all is well over there mate! I'm missing all those Thai and Chinese buffet lunches we used to eat. I would have never kept going in all that snow without them!! ;-) Cranes? I thought you could cut and hold and dismantle trees quicker then a crane??? :-)
  14. Now then Dean! I have used the 18m and 23m Teupen spiderlifts! I found the 18m a bit flimsy and lots of plastic panels that just would not last in our game! Obviously it will get into tighter places than the 23m tho! The LEO 23GT is an awesome bit of kit, much better build quality, it's almost all metal and would certainly stay in a tidier condition for longer after some abuse from falling branches and logs! One bonus with the 23 is it is self-levelling, push one lever and it sets up perfectly level eveytime. My only negative comments are the controls are a little slow compared to some other lifts I've used! Coming down from 23m takes forever!!! And you push the lever, wait 5 seconds then it starts to move. But apart from that, cracking toy to have a play with. Cost £325 for one day hire! But £230 to get return delivery from Bristol into the depths of Wales... I had a chipper on and limited time on the job so had to pay it!
  15. Ha, ha, ha! No mate, but it doesn't seem two minutes ago since we were!!! God that was cold! Stood still in a MEWP basket was the last thing I needed in the middle of a Swedish winter! :-) good memories Josh, now that it's summer! Hope ur well mate!!
  16. Where's our next tour gonna be then Frank?!
  17. It was a very enjoyable week, nice trees to work on, nice weather and good company! It was nice working with you again Frank, it's been a while! glad I invited you along! The Teupen LEO 23GT was a really nice bit of kit, excellent side reach of just over 11m I think, proved very useful with the Ash in such an awkward location! I counted the rings on the Ash and it was just over 200 years old, shame it had to come out but it was in a pretty bad way, some sections I cut were 50cm in diameter, completely hollow with barely 2cm of sound wood around the edge: a big health and safety risk in a garden open to the public. It was nice to work in such a beautiful location!
  18. Sorry mate, its sold!!

    Regards, Ed

  20. I did a two day practical crane dismantling course in Oslo, Norway last September with Mark Chisholm (World Champ) instructing. It was a brilliant two days, i learned a hell of alot. He taught to cut straight through every time! I hear of others doing it differently though. Interesting course though if anyone ever gets the chance to do it.
  21. Very sad to hear!!!
  22. You shouldn't struggle with the qualifications you have got, and the driving licence will help! Good luck!
  23. Number 2 is brilliant! lol
  24. Ha, ha!!! Its very easy working the ground when Josh is up the tree! I have sometimes been stood watching for 15mins wondering what i should do to keep busy and warm!!!
  25. I flew a MS200T to Portugal no problem at all....... flying it back with the same airline wasn't so easy! I checked my case in, had a nice meal and a beer, was last man to the boarding gate, just set foot on the plane and i got asked to come off the plane and the plane left without me! I had to ring my friend in Portugal to come and collect the saw and wait 8 hrs for the next plane! My friend had to post my saw back to UK!!! It was there in 2 days, so it obviously went airmail (funny eh!!!) not sure what the issue was with the saw! I was pretty pissed off at the time, because i had checked in advance with the airline before i booked the tickets and they assured me it was ok!!!
