  1. Haha, serves them right for flush-cutting all the highway trees – let ‘em all die, kill ‘em all with Laurel!
  2. : I think it would Rupe, but alas it wouldn’t be suitable for this thread. She didn’t turn up, but the production assistant was sweeeeeet.
  3. Just a taster of the filming today. Started at 7.30, finished at 5pm!
  4. I think I’m getting Bill Oddie mate – Blimey, what a pair of manic depressives! The poor robin will be shooting itself! lol
  5. I’ve burnt tons of the stuff – goes like a bomb when hot enough!
  6. Doing my filming tomorrow, I'd wear my Arbtalk Beanie, fleece and jacket...if I had one.
  7. I heard that if you went to sleep in the chip-box, you’d never wake up! (not that L/A workers have little naps you understand).
  8. Spent the last few days taking down and chipping some large Laurel hedges in one of our parks, hard work, but strangely satisfying! Are the fumes really bad for you or is it an urban myth? I’d love to know for sure.
  9. Nice set of pics – Crash, bang, wallop! Nice bit of firewood as well.
  10. Only just logged on – Happy Birthday mate!!!
  11. Cheers for that, nice pic Yes, its been on here a few times....very nasty!
  12. As Tony said, I think you could get away with a generic risk assessment as long as lone-working is specifically covered, i.e. make sure they have a mobile phone, you are aware of the location and they ring in/call you at given times throughout the day. It’s worth making sure they have the correct Hi-Viz as well (an approved vest is ok in a 30mph zone doing highway trees, anything above will require long sleeves). Obviously this would be for ground based surveys only, climbing inspections would be a whole different ball-game.
  13. Hi Emma, and welcome to the forum! What exactly do you require? A risk assessment to cover a member of staff carrying out tree survey work while out on site, or a risk assessment on individual trees or groups of trees?
  14. You’ll hear my screams of joy in Cheltenham if she does mate!
  15. The OneShow are coming to film for the day.
  16. Mate – it can be bulimic and anorexic for all I care…….as long as he lasts till Saturday that’ll be fine by me.
  17. Re-pollards at original points, I wouldn’t cut down any further – too much valuable nutrient in the main stems.
  18. Cool pics! The Elms round here are all about 8 inches wide.......But come pre-seasoned
  19. Sorry, but had you show you this........ [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8fFeqj74_1w]YouTube - Tame Robin enjoying a Cornish pasty.[/ame]
  20. Billy is a legend - the most knowledgeable chap I’ve ever met, plus he’s very down to earth and easy-going. I’d recommend him to anyone.
