  1. Further to the above, I rang the trust on 01737 365 000 and spoke to a very nice young lady. Apparently they’re had a few problems this morning but will take donations over the phone. Hope this helps anyone who is having problems….
  2. This is the third time I’ve tried to make a donation. First with my debit card and now with my credit card (which has now been locked!). Not a happy bunny…
  3. You get it after being in a MEWP as well, dont you know.
  4. Same here - An hour ago I was going side-ways down Bakers'Hill, Defford in the Discovery. A 'brown moment'!
  5. Kindred spirits mate – I love snow, had bugger-all here yet though!
  6. You could be right Stevie, they'll still be nice to keep the sand out me toes though. Guess who'll be rubbing in the sun-tan lotion...?
  7. Well, I was more than willing to do a review on the Arborcom, but you turned me down. Not sure I could bang-out 500 words minimum on a pair of boots. A pair of boots is a pair of boots (IMO). They seem to last about 12 months, chuck ‘em away and buy a new pair. If the soles don’t split then the stitching surely will. Not knocking any quality boot you understand, its just that climbing Arbs put boots through hell!
  8. That was taken while sitting on a moving kiddies steam train mate!
  9. Some lovely pictures popping up in the thread. I’m having a look now to see if I’ve got anything worthy….
  10. That’s an excellent way of showing off your company’s talents. Are you going to include the link to YouTube on your company adverts?
  11. Took this picture this morning and just had to share it with my Arbtalk buddies……
  12. Thanks, but Mick’s photos have inspired me to leap out of bed and grab the camera as soon as the snow comes – cant wait!
  13. I did exactly the same with this shot mate, years ago, winters morning, frosty and more or less pitch black to the naked eye. Its still my favourite all-time pic.
  14. Nope, the Ivy wasn’t severed at the base, to be honest I wouldn’t expect a tree of that age and condition to recover anyway. As it stands the Oak will now provide an excellent source for habitat for the local wildlife with the added bonus of not killing anyone (there is a footpath directly behind it) or damaging property. It was ‘pollarded’ because the base was extensively hollow, made worse by severe fire damage. The end weight in the crown was marginal but the sail area was a cause of concern.
  15. Mick, those pictures are stunning, got a talent there mate!
  16. I’ll second that, our machine is still quite new so can’t really comment on long term reliability. The over engineering is exactly why I went for that model (the stress hardly ever kicks in) it’ll eat anything you can physically fit into the feed-rollers. The only problem I had with it was here……. http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/large-equipment/5793-thank-you-vermeer.html ….but it got resolved very quickly. It’s a heavy machine which needs 3 people to push it down tracks etc. but the sheer chipping performance far outweighs this small negative. Go for it!
  17. That’s a lovely looking machine and in a perfect setting! Sweet.
  18. Ho can you miss that thread at this time of year???
