  1. If safety is a priority on the council why was the tree dismantled not felled onto the grass?
  2. got bad white finger then?
  3. just sometimes its nice to see somthing like that written
  4. I use the HS45 about £265 from memory. Buy it , paid for in a day , then use for 1 or 2 seasons then give it to my dad.
  5. You guys have such big open spaces to work in. I ought to video a few tight take downs and restricted access jobs. Just so you know why many UK arborists rarely need to use mini loaders and big chippers.
  6. I have LOLER customers who use lengths cut offf their climbing ropes to use as saw lanyards. $96 for that. that is not gonna sell to them.
  7. no i didn't, but then i only did french and german at school.
  8. i wish they where cheap and hard , rather than expensive and easy.
  9. h v is hardly worth the effort to type this but... I was helping friendly wildlife rangers to run an all day fun climb for kids and adults the hi vee wore a nasty channel in an ally ring in a cambium saver, no probs with the yale doing that. it is the worst rope I have seen for self twisting and fowling up on itself. Go on give us some good reasons to use it then as obviously you rate it highly.
  10. why not a lombardy pop they grow tall and thin too:wave:
  11. left my cash at home , what a dope... ...still fixed my PC fan and stealth purchased a harness and throw bag/ line from Buxtons, yale 16mm lowering rope from some ebay shop.
  12. whats frikkin right with it. wtf, i dont like it thats whats wrong with it, end of story. any more questions about $h!te rope?
  13. that tree looked sound as a pound.
  14. good thoughts there zen. I have a huge job to price in which bracing a large visually prominent beech is one part. I would prefer to reduce the load by thinning before bracing. Would it be better to install after full feaf is developed and the strain is at its greatest, or before while the load is minimal?
  15. home early, so I'm going shopping
  16. rough orange birds nest twine. why would any one like it?
  17. "Hasta la uego " does that mean who's next over the border?
  18. I go to a Mr Duck and a Mrs Chicken ( i'm no turkey though)
  19. buy any rope as long as its not new england hi Vee . I love my XTC I have had several, but get one with the eye in the end, not just a cut length. I also use a short marlow for little trees. I'm not up with the rapid sporty climbers so as long as it holds a knot its good.
  20. There is a horse chestnut between Wimborne and Poole that is like those but has several layers of branches rather than 1. The knobbles on the branches are fascinating.
  21. cant get on with leg loops only. I never tighten the ones on the BF1 and seat.
  22. just got 2 new saws yesterday.

    chipper

I got an Entec Chippit 25PH 2 years old factory reconditioned for £6500+vat that was in 2000 I am affraid to get rid of it as its been such a faithful servant. I would hate to buy a POS next time. Diesels are more unforgiving than petrols, when you run out of juice just empty the contents of your combi can into the tank.
  24. We just used a "chocolate block" terminal connectors and insulation tape. ( not me who broke it though)
