  1. I have a letter from my local tax office saying my work is agricultural and as such exempt, its dated 1999. I just send a copy of it with the invoice and always get paid in full.
  2. Surely people read threads to get information about potential situations, not just to hear about a specific case. So I don't really think the age if of relevance, if some one has a view point or information that may help in a similar situation, I think its go for them to add to the thread regardless of its age
  3. In a different league to anything else I've used. Can wear mine all day no problem!!
  4. They came for the Jews, but I was not a Jew so did nothing. They came for the Blacks, but I was not black so did nothing. I won't go on, I'm sure you've heard it before. Live and let live I say. As Tim would say "peace"
  5. You don't think I know They have a hydraulic steering box, which gives you power steering. There is a piston in the steering box, which acts like a rack (as in rack and pinion steering) this rack moves a sort of 1/4 gear on the end of the arm thats attached to the drag link (I think its called) In the center of the piston there is a steering worm with a spiral grove round it, there is a series of balls that move up the grove and allow oil through which increases the oil pressure at that end of the piston pushing it and turning the wheels. Its sort of a double acting ram, (mine's 5tonne!!) so as Treequip says if on end is full of air you won't get pressure at that end. Alex explained it to me much better than I just have

    Weather

Warmed up a far bit here, melting and generally unpleasant. Not worked today or tomorrow, but hoping for Wednesday. I don't think we'll get much more real snow. Could just do with a real pour down to get shut of the slush and snow.
  7. I think your onto the most likely cause. Hope you get it sorted tomorrow lads!!!!!!!
  8. Bigger than big and a lot bigger than fairly small, I would say If it were me I'd be having a look before I gave a price.

  10. Wasn't mine TF, but I've seen it happen!!!!!!!
  11. Indeed!! And when you try to tip up the cab the wings collapse!!!!!!!
  12. True, BUT the steel round it does and then IT falls off!!!!!!!!!
  13. Its like a giant pair of pincers thats operated by a crane or excavator, for breaking down large diameter timber, so it will go through a chipper.
  14. I believe they used to use massive flails that would smash off 12" limbs!!!:scared1:
  15. With you I used to do railway nights, spent a few nights waiting for this that or the other:001_rolleyes:
  16. Sounds like a flail train mate.
  17. So were you there to cut any trees that may have been in in the way????
  18. Is it just me or was there no tree work??????????????????
  19. Yes, a decent mog, but is that a decent mog??????
  20. Alex is the man. The springs they sell have no tapper, so they only move when you over load them. Unimogs have a brake adjuster between the back axle and chassis, as the chassis goes down, due to increased load, the rear brakes are applied with greater force, to slow the great weight. As the springs vos sell have no gradual movement, the braking remain at low force even when you have a load on.
  21. If they are vos uprated springs, I wouldn't drive it if you paid me, they are dangerous and I'm sure illegal.
