  1. Who ever you clearing them for probably think its a gift for them too, getting them shifted for nothing.
  2. The "W" too, but she's not as shapely.
  3. Do you guys who use large trailers with your 3.5 toners have tacko's ???
  4. I actually rang them last week and then again yesterday (I had found them through google) but no one answered the phone, so I rang this guy Tractor Tyres and Rims - Peter Shepherd - Agri Point he can do me a pair of used rims part worn tyres and all the fittings for what seems like a fair price.
  5. Worked this morning, then the rain moved in, lashing it down now so afternoon off.
  6. Yes it has crab steer as an option, but I don't think is the fact that the wheels follow each other that causes the loss of traction, its just down to foot print size, soft tyres make a huge difference. Also when in crab steer is quite difficult to go where you want.
  7. I've managed for over 15+years But then I have a paperwork phobia:blushing:
  8. You miss my point. If you took a full land rover pick up load of chip and put it onto the back of a transit, the transit would be well over weight. So yes you can physically get more chip on a transit, but you will be massively overloaded. So if you wish to operate within the law, a landy is just as capable as a transit and in some cases has a higher payload.
  9. I don't think any paper work would really prevent them from cancelling. Even if you took them to court and won, you would only get your out of pocket expenses, which in our line of work are likely to be very little. And would you really want to do a job for someone who had decided they did not want you doing the job??? I know I wouldn't.
  10. IME dogs really do work, but they need to be the real deal, I had a GSD that looked the part and barked well, but in reality he was very friendly, the villains soon worked out he was all bark and I had a lot of gear nicked. I now have a pair of GSD that will happily rip any visitor to ribbons, since getting them I have loss no gear at all. Ideally you want loose dogs, not chained (I think chained is cruel any way) and two or more dogs is much better. A single dog is easier to wound or beat back.
  11. I do let the tyres right down went on sort ground.

    Bit windy!!

Thats not chapter 8 mate and that felling cut is shocking!!!!!!
  14. The ones I'm looking at getting have lugs that will screw on to the wheel studs and then hooks go into these and a leaver operate an over centre cam to lock the hooks, so should be quick once set up.
  15. I'm already on 445/70R 24's, but need more traction on wet ground or when pulling the trailer.
  16. I would only be using them once on site and for short distances across a field to get to the work and back, then remove. Do you think even such limited use will cause problems?? I was going for 3 lugs, will this be too few??
  17. Thats a great link, thanks!!
  18. Can you change the rims Peter???
  19. I'm looking at getting some duel wheels for my unimog. I want them for improved traction and lower ground pressure. I'm thinking just the rear axel. I have spoken to Alex Price and he know of people who have fitted duels to mogs. I'm aware that there will obviously be increased side loading on the hubs and king pins (my mog has 4 wheel steering, so two front axels) so I know I will need to take care to keep on fairly even land. Has any one any experience of using duel wheels?? How many lugs do people think I will need for attaching them??, I'm on 24" wheels
  20. A transit cannot legal carry the volume you can get on a Landy, never mind the amount you can get in its own back. So volume is not what matters, its weight.
  21. Nice job!!! Do you often work with cranes???
  22. Well went to see the doctor tonight. My BP was 161/101, he said thats too high and he wants to find out what the problem is. So I'm booked in for blood tests, ECG, 24H urine test (I will be given a container in which I have to collect all the urine I produce in 24 hours) and I will wear a BP monitor for 24 hours to see what my BP is through out the day and night. Kidneys problems seem to be top of his list of probable causes. I don't think stopping drinking coffee has made any difference, but I'm still clad I've quit and don't miss it.
  23. No its not just you. I've got nothing from this wind yet.
