  1. Do you have a link to this? I really don't think its true.
  2. All damp chip goes mouldy, not sure soft is any worse than hard??
  3. Why on earth does a log need to be split?????? Round logs burn great.
  4. Not true,Heizohack chippers produce G30 or G50 and start at under £30K for the smaller ones.
  5. Great work Steve!!! so many cracking prizes!! Such a great cause!!! I've just bought a second batch, spreading them out to up my chances:thumbup: New system working great, so easy to buy this year!!
  6. Its not as simple as that, for every firefighter position advertised there are on average 80 applicants (and thats just those who apply, many more would apply if they thought there was much point) so those that are successful are the lucky few. I think the reason most don't support the firefighters is because them seem to always to be striking for something, when there are plenty who would be more than happy to do the job on the new terms.
  7. Yes, but things change, what about the people with private pensions?, my mother payed into the Royal Collage Of Nursing pension for decades, she won't even get her money back!!. Maybe you firemen should rest on your days off:sneaky2: instead of doing second jobs, then you may not be too unfit to work to 60?? My father is 72 and still working as a joiner (can't afford to retire) he's up and down ladders most day.
  8. New Botex grab for my crane, ordered it tuesday, it arrived yesterday.
  9. They won't see them from the picket line, unless the fire is across the road. If they are striking, they put people at risk, no ifs, no buts, really annoys me when they strike but claim no one is in danger, its nonsense!!
  10. I think Newton had the edge on him.
  11. This is extremely common, IMO.
  12. I'd be ashamed of that, even if I was part way through taking it down.
  13. Its a Hawthorn, they love being cut like that, hell they even like being flailed.
  14. Yes because all nationalised organisations work forces are hardworking and reliable
  15. Surely the camera is the "tool" the photo is the product.
  16. Not a tree, hundreds or thousands of trees, big difference.
  17. :thumbup1:Thats the one!! offered that many times, strangely no ones done it yet:sneaky2: I don't every cut and split the timber I get for nothing from job, I sell it on in lengths or burn it on my boiler, my hourly rate just to high to be covered by selling logs from a tree I've felled for the timber. I worry that many of you don't value your time highly enough, do your record the hours you spend processing logs and work out what you're actually making???
  18. I disagree, what your are doing, IMO, is devaluing the industry and giving customers the idea that we make fortune from their timber.
  19. IMO, there far to much work in turing a tree into seasoned logs for it to be viable to remove domestic trees for the timber.
