  1. Thats if its defiantly CO2 and not increased sun activity.
  2. If global warming isn't human caused, how can we possibly be in a position to do any thing about it?
  3. A while ago I got a speeding ticket, but I see people speeding all the time, its not fair!!!! Who should I wright to about this disgrace?
  4. I think you will find most of the Middle East is similar.
  5. Fat families eat too much, they have "big plates" of food. Their children also have "big plates"
  6. Maybe they just keep going, hoping for a result?
  7. Most eating habits are. Thats why fatties always blame genetics "Its not my fault, my mum and dad were fat too, its in my gene's", "No fatty, you didn't inherit fat gene's, you inherited big plates!"
  8. Not really, us meat eaters will out breed the vegans, who will become extinct.
  9. Not for me, I love it. I hear some vegans can't ejaculate.
  10. Compared to parking your arse on a beach for two weeks?
  11. Statements like this amaze me ? Is one not slightly more necessary than the other?
  12. I think religion plays a big part, makes it easy to ignore any problem.
  13. Please explain the difference? Other than the police failing to act? I've no objection to those who see fighting as their skill and wish to test themselves against others of a similar mind set, but far better done in a controlled environment such as Boxing or MMA, where its a genuine contest.
  14. Indeed, what a load of pathetic meat heads. Have they really got nothing better to do?
  15. Impressive as always Reg, really enjoyed that! Thanks for taking the time!
  16. Personally I don't think its about leaves, do the beatles even eat the leaves? I think its down to cambium thickness, the beatles lay their eggs in the cambium and the lava tunnel around in there eating as they go, this does not harm the tree, but unfortunately the beatle caries the fungus, so the tree becomes infected. Young trees and some mature tree don't became infected, is this because their cambium is too thin? Thats what I think. I've heard theories that young trees below 5M are below the flight path of the beatle, but I find that pretty implausible. If my theory is correct, pollarding young trees will stunt them, possibly keeping the cambium thin and thus protecting them.
  17. One test for bona fide subcontractor is can you can sub the job out to another firm? if not chances are are your a "worker" or similar from a H&S point of view. If you are told a time to meet and working with others or under instruction, you are defiantly not a bona fide subby.
  18. Unfortunately we were early to the party and did all our worst deeds long ago, do we really have the right to stop developing nations the right to do what we did, all be it on a much larger scale, just because there are so many more of them? Do they care or even believe us? Should we nuke them, in the interests of saving the planet? will they die anyway so no crime? I really don't think there is anything we can do, but hope? I guess time will tell, lets hope the planet is more resilient than we think. Were we born 30 years too late?
  19. From a legal point of view, if your name is on the invoice the buck stops with you. H&S legislation is very different to HMRC legislation, just because you are self-employed from a tax point of view, does not mean the firm you are working for does not have a "duty of care". I've had EL insurance for decades, ever since my first self-employed goundie.
  20. I hear you Mick, but the amount a subby climber make is far less than the firm who are doing the job, so IMO the firm who's name is on the invoice should have the correct insurance in place.
  21. Why was he subbing for lecky work without the correct insurance? IMO he is very lucky you did not sue the arse off him.
