  1. its there as a deterrant when pig or sheep netting is erected with 2 strands of barbed wire on the top it makes the fence look taller also it should be tight this is to stop live stock trying to jump over wen they push against it they are pricked with the barbs. In my experince it works and we use it on our fields.
  2. On a more serious note I have talked this over in the chat room and it was decided that you could use wooden clogs for your work boots. i presume you mean the clogs that are used in holland. as in the uk clogs have leather uppers:thumbup1: if so how wood you put steel toecaps on them:confused1:
  3. was it a pot grown tree?if so could have girdled roots,meaning the roots are growing in a circle rather than spreading out as the should naturally if this is the case i would personally remove and replace with a better formed specimen. also if t is second time this has happened i would replace anyway to be sure of the tree not blowing over.Good luck with the out come

    dont forget that if helping others ppe is required.Realy should have them anyway when using a saw. Ms250 is a good saw for occasional use imo.
  5. Im just curious my Tree flex harness is now over 3 years old and ive been told its now out of date and should be replaced. Is this correct even tho it is still in servicable use and has no defects to worry about. Also would it be an issue for the insurance if i did have an accident and the harness was a factor in incident? cheers

Good luck in trying yourself but like said earlier if a pro comes in they have insurance and as if not more important experiance in the fact they could have seen such or similar situation and be more aware of the root ancorage and soil type could affect the way it is still held up! good luck with the tree and be safe!
  13. keep it as a spare, yes they are the older model but it has the manual oiler on and it comes in handy plus big saws are rarely used so a good chance it will be in reasonable order.Parts are still available also which is a plus.mine will die before i even think about getting a 880.
  14. so is it a beech or ash ??? a climber of 7 years said ash in the threads i beg to differ any other comments?

  16. class diy disaster me thinks:( No wonder we are short of work with so many experts. Ash? ERR no id have a guess its possibly beech in my unexpert oppinion. But i am in the business and not working in the office so best go for Ash as they know best.
  17. did the tree fall on the bus or did he drive into it? looking at front of bus and parts of the roof over limbs just an observation either way hope the driver recovers.
