  2. No damage just a few welds that i want to paint up poweder coat is good but i was thinking more a can of primer with some orange paint. Unless you know how much having the machiene recoated would cost cheers
  3. Fair enough but i have used these machines and found them to be bigger than others so what was wrong with that. that was all i was saying just an opinion i only rant on a chat bull wen some one does put an off the topic post on.
  4. What was you saying spouting on about stuff hmmm quote above lol. Its called a forum thats what you do. Some people makes you wonder ahaaha Mr ed you have put in a very useless post why is that.
  5. I dont have one never get stuck just borrow my old mans ha ha. I see your point there a bit pricey tho do you notice they get lazy when there hot need to cool down. Any ways i thought the thread was for a guy getting his first all round saw 88 not my first choice.
  6. Yeah but compared to others there beasties. I like compact since we live in a tin can for a country. Vermeer are very much for the american market.
  7. Well that was my point smaller companies dont have a real use for them considering there price. 660 is all thats needed
  8. This is one of the things i have said before. The bigger companies dont follow the rules at all no mot trucks broken safty bars on chippers and no brakes on saws. ancient climbing gear. Its the small companys most that take the care to make sure every thing is tip top its there money on the line. Where as the bigger firms have climbers that abuse all the gear and dont care same in any industry with big firms tho. I think they should have apprenticships in the arb ind would make life easy for all employers and employees.
  9. Hello guys my chipper needs some paint in places what is the orange paint for the timber wolfs.
  10. Not so much stump grinding but on you tube i see another method. They blew the fooker out with dynamite a company near me been going 50 odd years had a licence for that. But i think carlton is ok but so much room for improovment needs anti vibration for the user exhaust directed away better need a thin version to fit through all gates. cant speak about vermeer but they are massive machines need a diet. powerful tho.
  11. This should be our motto. If it makes life easier dont be a tit use it. I will use any thing that takes the strain off me and we prob wont be allowed to climb trees in 50 years little robots with saw arms will buzz about ha ha.
  12. Do you guys tune your engines on your saws. Ha ha some one should but a small turbo charger on one. I think in this order for your saws Stihl 200t top handel Stihl 361 mid range Stihl 660 big end saw Stihl 88 only for big companies
  13. Well thank u i dont try to put peoples backs up i just have a nack for it. I would think it more like an active member lol.
  14. I have never come across i job where a mewp will earn me more or speed up the job i just get an extra climber in same price as renting a mewp without all the time consuming training etc. Although on a big asse conifer hedge row im talking 100+m only 25ft high im considering using one as in this case it will cut my time in half. But they are a pain having to move one then reset the legs untill there spot on. Im 50/50 on mewps

Cons have to tow extra weight costs money to run expensive to repair noisy. Makes a mess chips can blow out onto the street. Can get niked also need security some where to store etc. Pros looks much more professional get more on the truck saves alot of time and fooking about. pennys to run for what it does. cheaper to tip sometimes. All in all a must have for any decent tree company. But we all started without one well us with no spoon attached to our ass. Good luck i would get a timberwolf cos i recently did. Based on good value for money compared to others and a have used many timbers before and they are great machienes.

I have a KONG MAGIC climbing helmet its similar style to petzl rock climbing but all black with built on sordin ear muffs and mesh visor very light and i love it. Abbey garden pro/ machienary.co.uk
  17. ha ha ha. By the time you set the mewp up im packing up and done slight exhaggeration buy you get the point. I have used lots of different size mewps for other works besides trees. How would you reduce a 70ft oak. I believe they have uses but remember they cut into profits dont make the job quicker they almost always add time on setting up taking back checking etc.
  18. Yeah 361 three big firms i work with always used these on each team they got a beatin and kept going. or husky is ok but only get the XP models. eg 365 an above but XP
  19. How many mewps can fit through a customers gate. There for the commercial tarts.
  20. I can get them sharpened for £5 for the pair but its a flat surface. The ones i have been supplied with are hollow ground just wanted to know if any one likes either one more.
  21. If your training buy a 36 its the most used ground saw i know. why buy husky there ok but stihl are the top for a reason. i started with 2 200t's and 1 husky 365 special. I always buy new as you know there not fooked. Dont get a 441 or 66 you will have hardly any use for a while.
  22. Yeah true i guess all you can do is make sure if the situation ever comes up your prepared and have the necissary kit on site.
