Well an xbox is worth the money period. A cert telling me i know how to start a saw well thats not needed. While by law you do not require nptc why should i waste money that can be spent on some thing use full like saws etc. The only important thing is to be insured and since you also do not need nptc why this is my question to you why should i pay thousands on courses i dont need.

The people that really want to be qualified cant afford to because they have bills to pay etc. Most who are qualified were put through the courses more than those that do it them selfs. I did book my basic certs last year but cancelled as when i booked suddenly the price got hiked up. beehollox to them then. Whats to stop them just keep upping the prices nothing. Rememeber these are just certs invalid after 5 years while we dont need them to work i prob wont bother. Unless the prices were reasonable say 400 a cert.

So the people teaching today were tought that way. Its the people you work with that know your ability some people dont work well under assesment in that way its not fair on them. but the prices back then were decent my main quarrel is the price its to much if you want a better arb industry full of qualified climbers then they need to offer better training and assesment prices. otherwise we will always have this problem.

Yes but its by the by. the trainers teach you and then your assesed but the process is rediculously overpriced. Another good point why not be assed by the people who train you and know your abilitys thats how they used to do it.

Thats no worry you never know who is using the machiene. I can find out where an ip is coming from but its no use to joe public unless you know who is using the ip. But yes government watches every single person everything you do is recorded processed then deleted. Even american an foreign nations can monitor british citizens. You can have a non static ip but unless your doing some thing dodgy why bother. If they wanna know when i scratch my asse just ask lol:star:

25k a year is poor for all that see even when you do all them you get wages a secratery laughs at.

If the soil is compressing the roots it can sufforcate them. Have you done a soil test.If water is traped under the soil the roots can rot back you would get die back. Some thing is causing stress to the tree which has allowed fungi to grow. Im no expert on this Maybe passed storms have created internal cracks which have been compartmentlized and decayed.

Hey Roller Yeah what i thought when i called hse was told adequatly trained. Only some contracts require it thats all. A climbers skill is not on a piece of paper but in the individuals mind set.

When you put some one on a course for a week not only do you have to pay for it around £750 for basic 30/31 you have to pay them for the week minimum £250 also your gear must be new or inspected another cost you must supply all the safty gear another cost and transport them if not driving so you could be loosing £1200 for 2 tickets worth nothing. Then if you work out to train a bod from start to finish i think its more than £15000 average wage to some one is £12000 a year then supplying them protective clothing throughout the year and supplying the chainsaws climbing gear etc and putting them on the courses i bet could set you back £18000 and thats just for the basic courses there are loads of them not just 4. Now can people see why there are so many socalled unqualified climbers I think that climbers should be able to train and asses there workers over say a two year period and at the end if they worked hard and well you can issue a basic competence cert. But climbers must have minimum 5 years on the job experiance before being allow to train. That would piss off the nptc they cant mugs us off then. keep it in the arb industry nptc just added arb to make more money

Exactly how can £750 be justified for maintaining a saw and felling a bonsai tree. When i started i got 250 a week then taxed had to buy all my gear etc how can you afford 3-4 weeks wages on one course then you loose a weeks wages doing the course so £1000 it will cost you to do the muppet first course. Then your 38/39 is about £1000 in my area 650 arial 350 pruning so you loose over a weeks wages doing these say £1500 And thats just the basic courses So for the average person this is just too much. You wonder why people dont bother with qualifications one because you dont need them as long as you can proove your competent use an old company as a reference is fine for insurances not all. I would like to have all the qualifications but i wont pay these prices ever im sure some people on here must agree they need a drastic price reduction
