  1. Ouch. Little bit of heat will bend them back, bit of plating over it be as good as new.
  2. The weirdest tree i've done. Had a big forward lean on it cut the face in and bored in to cut back to the dogs tooth. Sat on the saw before getting to the back. The guy i was with decided it was no time to dogs tooth and did a straight fell. And barbers chair was the result
  3. A few misshapps. First i had to go and rescue the 2wd 390 that fell down a big hole bracken mowing, Second chop saw broke it bearing and derailed throwing it's self at me. VERY scary as it was hitting metal throwing its tips off. Third got a sycamore stuck with no winch. Telehandler to the rescue. Forth driving the trailer into pick up brash. Hit a metal fence spike cut off at ground level. Fith again not me infact the guy who put the 390 it the hole. It'll be ok no need to dogs tooth that......
  4. Just think how much you could charge for a multi windblow course though if you had to go and winch over half a wood.
  5. The tree in the background of the logo has gone. just a solid red background. Every thread title starts go to first unread post. The little reply tabs are gone and it just says reply in text. The reply text box is al messed up with just words rather than buttons. Oh and the little green icon has gone and it says this person is online in text.
  6. It's so it all fit in the new qualifications framework. I haven't really looked in to it but i guess 34/35 are becoming one windblown unit. As if you get one windblown it's probably broken another on the way down.
  7. Don't worry Ed i'm looking for some....
  8. They might already be water ballasted. Worth seeing if you can get some front wheel weights as you have a valtra it's a little easier to find such things. If not bit of belly ballast under the front might be an option.
  9. Ah you have a pump too. You'll tip the tractor over before you reach it's lift capacity with the pump up.
  10. Nice. Extra hydraulic tank on the front? Why is is that all the big valtra/valmets have oil filters that can be knocked off so easily.
  11. CS 32 - make sure your saw is cutting in a straight line or you'll be in trouble. Take your time on all your cuts. Put two rings on your hi lift wedges and they'll last a little longer. CS 34 - Pay attention all the time as if it's fresh it will go ping. Don't assume just because its old and it doesn't look tensioned doesn't mean it isn't. I got caught out once and the back of my calf was black and purple. CS 35 - Pay lots of attention and keep your escape routes really clear. It can be rather a scary sight seeing a 3-4 trees all blown on one plate. Just remember to sit back think, think again. Then cut and be prepared to change your plan deopending on how the wood reacts.
  12. Fancy. I always prefer to use a forwarder when doing such things as a grapple weights so much less than a head. Is there any reason why the harvester couldn't of taken it? I read your description and saw the lean but i've pushed worse offenders over doing double and triple cuts. I liked it a lot though. wish i got to do things like that more often.
  13. It seem to not load the background sometimes. Just stays white.
  14. Check out Kronos trailers. I don't know if they do trailers without cranes on. however they are fantastic very expensive though
  15. You know it's not that bad once you know. The Botex trailer empty without the legs just on a crooked drawbar however is very scary On steering drawbars once you've used one you'll never go back. Just to be able to reverse the tractor straight and steer the trailer is worth it alone. you can fir around some really tight corners too. Oh and use the crane quite close in without the legs is very useful. Also nice to be able to shove it side to side to see around the king post.
  16. With hydraulic motors will warm your hydraulic quicker i'd also imagine that they're more torquey. I guess the amount of power the drive provides will be dependant on if you run them off the tractor spools or from a pto pump. As a point on interest the biggest 15 tonne moheda trailers don't have legs as standard. All done picking stuff up by steering the drawbar to the off crane side. scary but it does work. If getting stuck is the issue could a set of band tracks for the trailer and chains for the tractor provide the extra traction required without a new trailer?
  17. I have a 365 which i've had for about 8 years. It may of had a 15" bar on it for a week rest of the time it has a 20" bar on it. Other than the chain break it's never had a problem. I've put a 24 on a 372 which is close enough the same saw just revs higher and that was ok with a the long bar would want it on all the time though. I've only use the X torq on the 576 and it seems ok. If a new 365 come with x torque get one with x torque just means that the cylinder carb and exhaust and air filter from the old one probably wont fit.
  18. I must admit I've only ever seen driven trailers with the crane attached never as just a trailer. The moheda ones are very good, hydraulically powered that drop down between the wheels to give 4wd to the trailer. One thing to be aware of is don't put big driven trailer behind a little tractor or you'll end up with broken gears and diffs.
  19. Seen a big PTO one in operation and they are awesome. Coupled with reverse drive it a winning combo. Arbwork on here has a fantastic one.
  20. Have you tried Revolution Oils in Hemel Jerry. We get both 32 and 42 from there and are quite reasonable. However if your after HT60 transmission there's only one place for that and its expensive.
  21. Bandit. Strong, tough and simple.
  22. What camera do you use David those shot are super.
  23. A few more not as good though.
  24. Good luck lads. If you don't have one already get a 3pl winch it will make your lives so much easier. Uniforest do a nice one which has a clevis hitch on the butt plate meaning you can take your winch and forwarding trailer to site on the same machine.
  25. Thanks guys. Yes Jerry they are at Hatfield.
