  1. Yes you did then,"Tony treadmill" is also there!
  2. Nice work mate! Did you do that one with "Ibiza Chris"? Great to meet you at the show mate!
  3. Putting a tow ball on the front of a vehicle is a god send in tight snakey driveways.Solves any hideous reversing problems.
  4. Over all it greatly exceeded my expectations.I agree the entrance fee was steep, perhaps a set fee per car would be more agreable. Generally I was very impressed by the standard of presentation of the vendors stands, full credit to those who exibited. Wish I had more time there,as well as a more generous baggage allowance as I ad to fly back to Norway the next day.
  5. I'd crane it.Swing the lengths onto the Trailer with the "leaves" hanging over the end,cut the green bits off.Repeat and you will have a loaded Trailer and a pile of Green bits. Chip And then revel in the loverly loaded trailer,sap-less hands and valuable timber you have gained. Macrocarpa is used back home for building Boats, making furntiture as well as cracking firewood. Looks like a good job:001_smile:
  6. Sad news indeed. My condolences to his family and freinds.
  7. Had a Tree Officer when I first worked in London,he used to say "give it a decent 17% reduction and a 5 to 10% thin" Errrr......Ok then.
  8. Here is a link to a guy who set his chokers too low.The peice size wasn't really the problem, the placement of the strops was.[ame=http://http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HRILH4mNjIo]http://http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HRILH4mNjIo[/ame]
  9. I am glad you brought that up Jim. Formally I used to stamp a series of Dots on my cutters, however due to the teeth being filed I would quickly loose the data.I then used a microscope and numbered them in a much smaller pattern, however this proved too time consuming and my trainspotting and attendance at vintage farm machinery rallies suffered.
  10. I engrave a number into each of my cutters with a Dremel, measure each ones length with Verniers and record the data on an hourly basis. Imagine the fun I have with a bag of Rice....
  11. Core the Apples and chop then into bits that will fit in a Food Processor. Puree the Fruit and pour into large Bowl.Add some Pectin if the mixture is too runny.Or if the leather is going to be eaten withing a week you can thicken it with some crushed whole wheat biscuits. If the mixture isnt too watery there is no need to thicken it. Get baking trays with raised sides if you have them,or cover normal ones with Tin Foil and just raise the tin foil around the edges to stop the mixture sliping off. Bake on lowest heat for 4 to 6 hours, leave the door open just a hair.Use all the racks in your oven. Best of luck!
  12. Fruit leather? If you are interested in the recipe I will find it for you.It worked out well in my first batch, much better than the commercial stuff.
  13. Cool! I'm hiring a car at the airport,so will look for accom in Oxford over the weekend.
  14. A city north of London Andy!I hear there is actually people in the lands north of London, although I didn\t confirm reports of that during the five years I lived there.lol
  15. I"m flying into London on the Friday evening and heading to the APF on the Saturday. Can anyone suggest a town/city about an hour or two north of Gatwick?I`d stay there the night and then head to the APF in the morning. Thanks
  16. Sorry to hear that mate.Keep your chin up and you never know, this might be the best thing that has happened to you.
  17. Well done for posting that! Hope you have made a full recovery!
  18. Take it slowly mate! Also introduce yourself to the driver, help him set up the pads and fill him in on your general plan.If you have radio contact with the driver agree on the terns you'll use,"boom up","cable down" etc.If you don't have radio's agree on hand signals for the above movements. Have him keep you up to date on how much the crane can lift at each point, especially if the boom has been lowered or your thinking of a big Pick. The cranes lift capacity can be reduced by fairly small adjustments (from your end of things anyway). I hope this hasn't sounded too "Sergent Majorish",been safe, have fun and take loads of Piccies!
  19. Good stuff! I hope you poisoned the roots so you never have to come back again.....
  20. I don't agree with you there mate.Brittish make up the bulk of Arborists that immigrate to NZ.As a rule they don't have the experiance in large tree removals that commands top dollar. Reduction and thinning as you know it in the UK are a very small part of the Tree industry in New Zealand. Head out there and have a look by all means, the style of work changes slightly from one City or Island to the next. If you have your HGV then you will be along way ahead as much of the kit is bigger than in the UK.
  21. Thanks to al who replied,I'll give the Norwegian outfit a call on monday!Cheers
  22. My dad has had fourth year Engineering students that were unable to change the battery in a cordless drill!
  23. Fingers crossed for you mate!
