  1. Have you tried or been shown the correct way to shoot off a sling? Most slings are designed to just carry the Rifle comfortably,an old style target sling is as stable as a Bi pod unless you are watching game through the scope for longer periods. And yes. You can carry the Rife with it. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IaRCFpH27-w&feature=related]YouTube - Improving your shooting #7. Using a leather rifle sling.[/ame]
  2. Did you get the Ammo holder on the stock and the bi pod from the "Andy Mc Nab tactical accessories range"?
  3. As like more than a few people I have thinned Poplars. However out of all the Trees I have worked on they are one of the few that are unsuitable to have near a house. Fell it. Plant an Oak Tree.
  4. Happy Birthday you old bastard!

  5. I can appreciate paying more for a quality machine, and I think in the right application and for the right person that machine would be a winner. However in these tight times the asking price might automatically disqualify it from the lower priced but adaquate competition. If I were to buy one and then pay import duty,I would be looking at around £40K. If I really, really wanted a Schelising I would be more inclined to purchase a second hand model and pay some extra for reconditioning. Thats my opinion anyway.
  6. One of these would be great for Squirrels and other "Vermin"
  7. The Bunnies would indeed find it no good sir.
  8. Dragon slayer in 50 Caliber! I hope to get one in time to go home with it and possibly back a Deer or a Pig with it. 225grain projectiles 192 footpounds of energy! BRAVO!
  9. Good thinking. We just have to work in Steep boggy terrain and I am sick of finding "important" things to do when we use the Turfor/
  10. I am fabbing up a winch mount for the Chipper. I also need a winch for the mog, fast axels and a machine gun on the roof.
  11. Getting ready to pull the chipper off the chipp pile it had just got stuck on.
  12. Note to self.Tie top onto lowering rope BEFORE felling top.
  13. I have the cable and controls to change the throttle to the rearon my Jensen. However I lack another Mike to bloody do it. Fancey a holiday Dean?
  14. Put an extension on your flipline. A bit of wire rope with splice eyes in each end or even a chain. If you don't plan on cutting when your on the flipline then a peice of rope works well.Double it over as its easier to grap, you will have to really fip it on the biggies.
  15. Good idea Dean. But in my experiance any electrics, switches, solenoids etc, just can't take the vibration.
  16. Mine would also have "Instructor" on the front.
  17. I would have armed Geese that exploded once they were out of ammunition.
  18. Congratulations! I hope the position becomes a perminant one!Now that you have your foot in the Door, keep it firmly wedged there!
  19. I would buy one or two of all these.
  20. Nice idea mate. But there was a stone wall in front of Mog about 5 meters high.
  21. Today we Zip lined out about eight ton of timber using a zipline. The trees were straight felled and the bush chipped with the tracked chipper. We were able to zip the logs straight onto a trailer for easy egress. Pic one.Mog used at ground anchor and Turfor used to as safety device. The Turfor will slip before the Cable approaches breaking strain.Thats not really an issue when dealing with small timber, but it can avoid embarrasment. From beginning extraction this morning,we were finnished in a total of seven hours. Not bad for two blokes and some gear.

  24. Estimate the time it will take plus any dumping fees and multiply it by what your hourly rate is.
  25. Black Poplars are always easy to "Boot Prune".Wether intentional or not your Boots seem to find the branches that nature dosn't seem to want the tree to keep:ohmy:
