i had an elm burr probably 1.5m by 1m deep. id always seen it on the elm and when it fell over i was straight on it. it took 2 of us and lots of pulleys to get into the canter. and then the council told me to chip it due to dutch elm disease. fair does but i was gutted!

just a few pics from todays removal. twin stemmed canary pine, stone dead and included bark at the union. hit a stem each, one for me and the other for Guy Clarke(nz rookie of the year). good fun and craning out the stems next week. every piece lowered due to being very central in the city and the ground below has heritage status-albert park, in name of prince albert.

Just an old one, remove te valve and place on your upper body but making a twist so it fig 8 it's self. Like webbing to make a chest harness. Then just clip a crab on the front and clip I to the uni top hole or the hitch climber.

Ian- have you cut a section and sandblasted the spikes? It looks mental, a friend did it

I haven't used a butterfly in ages but could you not attach the bridge, using rope, the same way as a tree motion with stopper knots behind the shackle? If not just tie onto the shackle? For security you could use the tree motion bridge. (globe)
