  1. Hi rob, ive got a ventile jacket thats about 6years old now and doesnt look it! to make one up for climbing though pay heaps of attention to the cut of the arms as my jacket goes fairly hard when wet and this makes arm movement a bit of a pain. bloody hardwearing though........
  2. Was showing SRT to a friend today and the ability to really tighten the bridge down made the treemotion a little bit better to use with the croll. Also found that after jumping round the tree for a couple of hours the little prussic becomes real hard to move easily. Dont think it makes limb returning any quicker but does enable it to be done a bit safer imo.
  3. not an option at all.
  4. Panmure.
  5. i wish:001_smile: if it wasnt under the lines we probably would get away with it too.
  6. Liquidamber removed today. Insulated EPV to clear the lines first. were a bit unsure how to emove the stump/stem as the 400v lines run over head and 2 sets of 240v lines feeding the houses either side. how would you guys do it?
  7. advice is noted:001_cool:
  8. yeah i know what you mean but the prussic takes up all the room through the little hole. theres no way you would fit the 10mm bridge and any other cord both through. ive put some big whipping next to the prussic now to keep it shorter and the stopper knot is there as a fail safe. this system worked really well today removing a big liquidamber.
  9. that was my concern at first. i found that my attachment ring just goes over the prussic and sits on the standing part making the prussic grab more.
  10. Tim Sharp and i think Bivouac as well. there was a big waiting list i heard though...
  11. im getting a little bit of wear again in the same place. its always on the right leg for some reason.
  12. another thing is that it was a lot smoother to extend if i extended over my right shoulder (if the prusic is on the right side).
  13. yeah gump mentioned anchor bridge to me too-what is it?
  14. Tried this setup today for a change and it worked quite well. I find that the hitchclimber is sometimes out of reach at full stretch wearing the tree motion, so this gives some adjustement when at full stretch. Can also extend it long for ascending or branch walk return. i can see it being abit of pain having another bit of rope dangling down but that didnt seem an issue today, was just like having another lanyard. also need to tie the stopper knot closer to the prussic. 2 more. losing some of the sliding bridge is also not as much of a bother as i thought it would of been.
  15. yeah thats where my webbing wore.
  16. i thought you meant 8 days on one tree!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  17. i dont think we can complain about the price if you spend 8hrs a day in it. Best purchase ive made in arb. The webbing wore through on my first one but it got replaced for free and i was given a replacement to use whilst it got replaced.happy days.
  18. Rec climbing is a bit of a no no at the moment (in the kauris at least) due to phytophera being spread to all the famous trees. apart from that its sweet as:001_smile:
  19. [ and i dont trust physios. QUOTE] why not? my girlfriends one and she hasnt killed me yet. i am interested in your distrust though
