  1. double that in nz ben.............
  2. cinch is way smaller so takes up less room and is lighter. works best on a 10mm line i reckon.

ive got the blue tongue(aussie poison ivy) and really rate it-not as static as my NRG line which is my number one access line but nicer feel in hand. Tachyon is ordered so here goes................cheers for the feedback bro-now its getting cold and wet here im starting to dislike my blaze again.
  8. id say roughly its over a metre, maybe 1.2m
  9. For me it saves energy. instead of using energy to fight friction at your anchor, you use the energy to climb the rope so therefore using less energy to go the same distance. If your using redis, then they add friction and all this combined can make moving the hitch really tiresome-the RG gets rid of the most friction at the start. If you do have to reascend any part of the tree its not so tiring. Gives you an anchor point where there is no natural crotch.
  10. we measured an 80kg weight being dropped off a branch, attached to a rope by a standard length footlock strop. with this amount of slack the shock on the anchor was about 2 tonnes!
  11. Footlock or SRT up to your anchor then install your rope guide. Ive put some pics up on some thread somewhere showing how to do it from the ground but its a bit of hassle. They fully make climbing easier once you get used to them -harder at first but instead of fighting friction, you move. but can be disconcerting at first. They are $820+vat in NZ!!!!!
  12. good post gibbon, glad it didnt go any wronger.

nope, treetools are getting it in and im just tryin to help them sell some!! i cant wait to climb on it after the reviews its been getting. Would you like some mate?
  14. awesome pics bro....
  15. you need two so each side of your rope runs on a pulley-the crab is too small to run two ropes without tonnes of friction(which kinda defeats the object.
  16. nothing but a carabiner thank you mr smith:sneaky2:

  19. board bro but i snapped my left ankle 2 years ago and its canes it when i have to drag the board juct clipped into the left . might try some skis this year...
  20. is most SRT, does the croll not back up the ascenscion and the ascencion backup the croll? or is it recommended to have another? would be too much bother if so imo
  21. i was waiting for the offer bro..............
  22. a new one i made yesterday. Replaced the ring with a big splice, inside the splice is a Donaghys bungy ( a proper pain to fit). This holds it open for retrieval and helps it not get snagged when pulling it out the tree. It worked well today anyway...
  23. heres a few mate
  24. the smaller fields are the best, temple basin-1 hr walk up steep snow but purw powder once you get there.heaven......
  25. south isalnd in winter is a must. fiordland is better as all the waterfalls have bigger cascades, mtns are covered in snow, thermal rivers/streams feel warmer when theres snow around, coastlines seem more rugged. Nevis bungy at qtown is mean-136m freefall. lord of rings trips are waste of time, mustering on horseback is cool, petrified forest at the catlins is a must, west coast is awesome, pancake rocks, heli board on the glaciers, kayak around abel tasman, just drivin round, bouldering at castle hill.......... there is sooooooooo much
